That is very interesting. Currently a heavy blob over my location and it's been light to moderate snow for the past 20 mins. Nothing that looks heavy in nature

Anyone west of Birmingham that is in a dry spot on the radar but are still seeing snow falling?

Yeah looks light on the radar, but really coming down.

That's bizarre! The current radar run is showing that it's dry there! Definitely something funky going on with the radar today.

Dark radar arts! I’m not gonna complain when it’s in our favour

Snow had died down here in coventry. Gone back to light snow around 4cms so far. Looks as though that is it. Not bad to be fair

It will blow in from rugby way for a while yet.. then it may stop for a few hours and head south again around 3pm, will be lighter on the return tho

Gutted,  had hardly anything here so far this winter and missing out on the really good stuff again.   It's always further north,  you lot are so lucky.   I am having a toy out the pram moment.

Nope. Got to be just a few miles to my south. Better not stop moving north now!

I really should not have woke up at 8am today, 3 agonising hours of being in phantom snowfall on the radar yet it's only now that I'm allegedly in bright yellow echoes that light snow has started. Please just go right today, I'm tired of the near misses.

I'm very interested in this theory of the snow blowing around 5-10 miles West of where the radar is currently showing it. Never thought of it before but it certainly seems to be the case, today!

Alton, Staffordshire Moorlands, ST10 4 area.

been tracking the system all morning taking an age to reach us and it’s hard to call whether it will make it. The system is literally 8 miles south! MetOffice forecast updated to heavy snow for the next few hours but not a flake yet! Do they know something!? Will their forecast outplay? I can only hope. One thing is for certain the chance is there and I am watching with intent!

It happens more when the snow is powdery,  so it carries further, usually we have heavy wet snow. It's closer to the radar signature

Burton is just to the South west of me, and watching the radar it now looks like the heaviest stuff is breaking into two as it approaches, meanwhile not even a flake.

Its weird how any "weather" seems to split, or just miss altogether - there have been many cases in the past where its looked like doing something, I've been out at an event or elsewhere warned people about severe weather incoming and nothing, or nothing significant has happened

Makes the chase and near misses all worth while. Lighter here now so should be moving to those east of me. Seems to pivot bk over the West mids later and snow up until 9ish according to Met.

Nope blizzard like conditions again lol. It has to have stalled here.
