Estimate about 6cm here so far and still very heavy snow. How much do we need for Met to put an Amber warning.

Will it drop south again when it pivots?

Supposedly, this’ll give you an idea, 06z WRF NMM.

I would finally say its heavy now in Hinckley, however it making good progress North and not showing a lot of signs of pivoting. If it carries on we will be out the other side of the thin band inside an hour

Northward progression has definitely slowed right down, not quite down to a crawl yet but nowhere near as quick as an hour ago. Can we cling onto the southern edge here in Brum?

Was just thinking that, unless pivot is a line east from Stafford/Stoke, can see this marching north of here

I have a feeling it will dry up in a little while and then snow will drop down back South for late afternoon

Yes the Met are going with that scenario, dry for a few hours then snow again for a few hours later this afternoon:

Coming down heavily now in Nuneaton.

Radar shows quite an extensive band spreading out further north too.

Great seeing powdery snow in the heart of Winter.

Still coming down here, about 5cm. It’s been a very long time coming but it’s nice to have that crunch under foot at last, not sure how much more we will get

Getting heavy again now despite the radar lol. I think it’s stalled now but who knows
