Mad. I’m seeing loads of reports of heavy snow across other parts of Stoke and I’m still seeing mild conditions and torrential rain. Could change over any minute.

Transition here seemed to take no more than 15 minutes from the first signs of sleet

Could be a january 2004 snow squall type of event

Jan 28th. Was very impressive snowfall around 4 inches in an hour or 2. Along with a drop of about 7c in 10mins at the start of it

Amazing how quickly this is turning when looking at dew points and uppers they are dropping very quickly atm...here my 2m temps are 9.2c but looking across the board just 10 miles west in places that is dropping to 2c

The best event in terms of transition from rain to snow ever in my opinion!!!had blue lightning with it as well!!was quite literally a blizzard!!was 6 or 7 degrees before the band hit and withing minutes down to -1 and white out!!got nearly 10cms out of it!!what an event and not seen such extreme since!!

28 January 2004 was unforgettable. 4 inches fell in less than 2 hours. Absolute gridlock in Birmingham and cars abandoned with people walking home

Biggest difference is the 2004 event had -10 850s coming south where as this one has -5 or -6 at best!!

Well that was one of the most obvious cold fronts I've seen! From mild and chucking it down to heavy sticking snow in the space of 10 minutes in Telford.
