In the meantime, to get your snow fix, have a look at this wonderful website and select Stockholm!

DRIVEANDLISTEN.HEROKUAPP.COM

Listen to local radio stations while driving through the cities around the world.

Edit: Just clicked back into Stockholm on it...and it's not always snowy! Must have different video feeds. Can't even get virtual snow sometimes!

I believe they have been taken without permission from 'Sigis Travel Videos' and 'Unclecoolie Productions' YouTube channels, as I recognise the one that was playing when I checked it out.

Ye im looking forward to her retirement shes got to be close surely she's been doing it since I was a kid lol

Personally I'm amazed she hasn't been sacked for a 'younger model' yet... this IS the BBC we are talking about.

Anywho, on to the weather, here in Stoke-on-Trent we have a delightful drizzly fog, with a topping of drizzly fog and drizzly fog on the side.  Urgh, I hate this sort of weather, makes my arthritis flare up badly (for whatever reason).

Hi peeps

Been a good while since I've posted on here, (good few years to be honest ). Although I must admit i have found it hard to keep away entirely, just a silent observer

Great to see many of the same old members keeping this thread alive, great stuff!

After the recent dire winters i have a good feeling about this one, we've had a decent start here in Stoke, with snow on the ground for almost 2 weeks up until 11th January,

Best of luck everyone

It has a perfectly shaped stoke-on-trent space directly over stoke-on-trent

Snowfall looking a little like wishful thinking, anything measurable on low ground certainly, sleety wet stuff at best i reckon.

Loads of drizzle and murk here this morning.

Temperature has risen from 1.5C at 0700 to my current high of 7.2C. (12:20).

Looks as if we are slipping into the warm sector.

Looking at the radar charts (on phone), it looks as if the straggled front out to our North west is developing a low pressure at the T junction of the warm front as it slides south east.

It all depends upon the angle of attack and the exact placement of the low as to who will get the snow.

Good luck to everyone.

Interesting. These things do often adjust westward once we get closer to the ‘event’, and the model output has done just that. Chances of at least seeing some falling wet snow look to be increasing even if it’s very doubtful that anything would settle.

my thoughts too, could see hopefully big wet flakes, but no January 5th 1998 event! don't expect any to settle

Still remember that event, expecting mostly Sleet and Wet Snow from this under current chart projections.

Next week looks interesting with the North/South split, still too early to call.

20 miles further West and the whole Midlands gets plastered. Ironic as models look better automated forecasts look worse.
