Anyone here get more than 8cm? Seems many in the region had around 7/8cm (3in) from the band of snow this morning going by posts.

I didn’t go out and measure but here’s a pic of our garden table so I would say yes, probably around the 10cm+ mark.

I used to live in south Wonston and a friend there took this earlier this morning. Makes me feel even better with the rubbished served up here

Oooh! We looked at 2 houses we both really liked a couple of weeks back. One in Kings Worthy and one in South Wonston. The shop in SW looks rubbish and looks like the bus service (which I use all the time) is too. So a bit out of the way for me. But wouldn't turn KW down though. In fact in SW the house we looked at was right next to the Dr's on the right hand side. Looks like it had some huge land. Trouble is ... We are poor so 600k is too much!!! Ah well back to the real world we will be doing works on this place instead!

Yeah it is a bit - there was an even better one for this coming Thursday right down to the south coast as well, but I couldn’t upload it for some reason. Again of course won’t come off as it is, but it’s a different idea to the week long mild spell that had been forecast from mid week!

I hope so, but unless it's organised enough they usually disappear over the Brecon Beacons.

Just thought I’d share some photos of what we woke up to this morning. We moved last yr to the other side of town and are on a slight hill now. Whilst out enjoying a walk in it, watching families building snowmen and kids laughing having snowball fights, me and Mr Calneee both agreed that this has been a much needed and welcomed mental break.

I felt the same Re: The Mental break tbh! It was a bit like going on holiday!

Well it’s heading roughly in the directions of the arrows at present - the inland bit has taken all afternoon to get from the west coast, so as AWD pointed out they may well fizzle out. The bit near the coast might be useful to some south of Bristol!

Oh, the top north west bit of this mornings band is actually starting to move south! Not sure it’ll get too far...

Blimey, has everything from this morning melted? Still got almost full coverage here, just shrunk a bit and dropped off the bushes.

Yup all gone here! Just odd scatterings of mushy ice now.

Patchy snow outside. Been wondering if the weather might put a literal dampener on things shortly via the mesoscale low approaching from the WNW - but noting increasing snow on the precipitation type radar as diurnal cooling takes effect. Temp peaked in the 2s °C and is now down in the 1s - but the dew point is stubbornly nearer 1°C than 0°C. Although I wonder how relevant that is when there's snow cover around the weather station that doesn't directly affect the sensor?

In any case, sufficiently heavy precipitation should find cold enough air aloft to draw down. GFS predicts snow to very near the coast, having predicted rain here this morning. Unusual that it predicts rain and I see snow - it's almost always been the other way around!

I hope your collecting it and putting in your freezer ready for when we have droughts in summer ...

Still full cover up here Wield/Medstead/Four Marks. An inch and a half now.

Went to check my sheep over at Shalden in the high ground north of Alton at 2pm and there was even more snow there. Still a bit powdery too.

Bonkers isn't it! We only had about a cm at most. Maybe nearer half. Let me get a current picture ...

Here we are:

What temp is your station picking up mapanz? My back garden blink cameras say 5c

I'm at 4.1°C after the passing shower pulled some colder air down.
