That stream and increase in intensity more than likely based on sun strength. I can see that dropping more south into North Dorset maybe even further south. Needs keeping an eye on that!

I’m logging off till next winter, that’s me done guys! So much potential but unfortunately poor show for us in the south/southwest. Unfortunately flurries don’t excite me! We could of had a snow event Friday as our last chance but Atlantic isn’t making it in. All the best till next winter

Wish you all the best see you next winter. I still think there will be several chances before winter is out.

including today Tomorrow and later in the week.

Not sure why people are writing the end of the week off so soon, the met office are still going for snow.

It is safe to say at the moment anything wintry let alone snowfall for the Far SW in this situation is very unlikely

Fingers crossed you get some snow. The predicted snow depths for Friday lunchtime are quite impressive, quite a few inches of snow around the SW.

Looking at radar development's I'd say there are quite a few in with a shout. Intensity is most definitely increasing even south east of the main flow which will brings the likes of eastern and Southern Dorset and IOW in with more of a chance of at least seeing some more flakes than seen so far. Need closely watching as intensity was forecast to pick up even more this evening.

Has there just been a downgrade? I've been catching up on all the posts from this morning and the charts that AWD posted looked very good for Thurs / Fri. Anything changed since then?

Well at least if anything does fall it’s going to settle easily the bucket of water outside is just pure ice

The ground is more than cold enough the air temperature is -1 with a windchill what feels like -6 on -7 to me

There's no downgrade, parts of Devon and south Wales could get quite a few inches of snow by Friday lunchtime.

I gotta stop looking at the radar. Trying to convince myself I will catch some of that snow but it's gonna go right under me.

Anyone in here from Swindon? Looks like it will go directly over you.

Not really a downgrade or an upgrade with regards to later in the week.

Modelling still in disagreement with how far NE any frontal system on Thursday/Friday gets.  Global models struggling to get it past Devon, other shorter term modelling like the high Res UKV model and the Netweather model gets it across most of the region, falling as snow away from Cornwall.

Personally I'm waiting for shorter term high Res modelling to come into play (Wednesday onwards) before looking at it too much.

Still very much up in the air.  As for now, we are all flurry chasing.

I think there is a definitely possibilty of some more organised snow Tuesday into Weds in the east of our region looking at the FAX charts:

The one for Tuesday shows a convergence line through the Wash which moves south into Weds:

Here's where it ends up on Weds:

One to keep an eye on.

A few snow grains flying about here at the moment...

On the plus side, at least the ground will dry out a bit this week.
