Nowt here as expected, and chances for Tuesday and Thursday/Friday appear to be receding, though the latest GFS run shows some light snowfall for around here early on Thursday.

Our snow spell is stopping now.
Just flakes blowing in the wind.
Great to have a snow spell though and that settled.
Temp is on the rise, been -0.4c since 5am. Now -0.2c

Forecasts have upgraded last hour for more snow showers for us from this afternoon through Tuesday.

Interesting...

Does anyone know why nominally the same NE airflow causes the shower pattern to appear so different over East Anglia and the South-East (larger smudges of light/medium-intensity precipitation) whereas The Wash northwards it is a more typical shower pattern with many small blobs of medium/high-intensity?

It does seem like it's going to turn out a very cold, but incredibly dry spell for most in the main. I think we kind of want a breakdown attempt from the west, just to give us all a fix - but those chances are drifting away as well. Looks very possible (although can still change) that we may be just fade out of cold into milder air which will then allow the Atlantic fronts to come in, immediate rain. No events.

Still have to make the most of this week though, things may crop up at short notice.

For any of you that are concerned for my sanity after I mentioned the BBC weather graphics, don't be.

I'm more inclined to believe that it will rain sprouts than trust that APP.

Why would I trust one that doesn't forecast me snow!?

To be honest I think they both as useless as each other.

Light snow falling here at the moment. I mean you can barely see it but it’s definitely snow.

I personally don't use Apps full stop.

I use Twitter for various info from the Meto and more especially, Ian F.

Although were laughing at the BBC app if you read the met office app for tomorrow it does say possible showers along southern coasts. Like I say although the low is to far South it could at the northern extent of the low bring enough cloud cover. Especially if the winds change more eastily south eastily as the low drops which could bring in some moisture in off the sea. "Maybe"

The metoffice one is reasonably good actually under normal circumstances. Under current conditions though no app is going to be that useful apart from temperature because the weather models are all over the place.

A complete guess but I would imagine as pressure is lower the further south you go, there is more cloud and light snow amongst the heavier shower type activity, whereas north of the Wash it's higher pressure and so just showers with blue sky in between?

Actually just seen where the BBC are getting it from. They expecting a streamer to make it all the way down into Dorset tomorrow morning.

I'm hanging onto that straw the most! Tonight should see more in the way of showers reaching the west. So hold on to those straws as much as you can!

I'm guessing this one shown on the Arpege 6z:

Pretty much stopped here now but there is still the odd flake coming down. Feeling a bit better after that, seeing as we been very unlucky here on the Island so far this year. Here's 2 from my house, nice little icing sugar dusting

Looks like 2 convergence lines are setting up to run to the North and South of my location this afternoon, oh well looks like others may see a  few flakes.
