Aww I am sorry your having a crap day! But that did make me giggle.. the paint not the drive. I have no such excuses for being a miserable mare. Only that I’m on a diet and want to eat everything in sight right now

Have a glass of wine Kate and wait for Thursday's snow

Right I'm back lost me password and got bored of almost watching on the last no event. Maybe we might see something of the white nature. Potential is there sort or.

Lampost is working,temps seem bloomin cold but lack of ppn. I think there will be some surprises for some of us. We live in hope

Another source of annoyance is how the bands of showers further north are capable of crossing the Pennines and Peak District so that they reach north-western areas of the North and the Midlands. Yet the showers coming in over The Wash, despite being heavier than those further North, are fading almost instantly even though I am pretty certain on the current trajectory there are no ranges of hills (it would pass to the north of the Chilterns) in the way to prevent it from reaching Central Southern England.

Latest 12z UKV continues to show light snow showers/flurries crossing east - west cross central Southern England through tomorrow morning;

Nothing much showing on this model tomorrow afternoon or Tuesday though.

Impressive 12z runs looking like the cold weather will last too the weekend and then enhance into the next. The option of the stalling fronts are very real. Lots to play for. Here Tuesday is a non event. All eyes on Thursday.

A couple days back we had rain forecast now a day of snow. Two days time it will probably turn into a cold and dry day!

Changed that for you.

Don't get sucked into GFS operational runs mate, they run 4 times a day and often give 4 different medium - long range forecasts a day.

Temperature dropped from a high of 1.6 to 0.3 and ice just forming in the buckets of water in the garden.

If anything falls from the sky it will be snow, just can't see much on the horizon yet.

Met Office going for a milder breakdown on Thursday into the South & West, rain and sleet and 5 degrees quite widely.

This is the temperature forecast map for SW England, on Thursday afternoon, on the Meto website, updated around 2 hours ago;

Seems to follow most modelling in that milder air only really gets into Cornwall and costal parts of Devon.

Inland northern and eastern parts of the region remaining on the cold side.

Ultimately all comes down to where the frontal system sits.  This will chop and change regularly between now and then.

I’ve lost my positive attitude of yesterday and now see no hope on the horizon. I know we are less than a day in but it looked so promising a few days ago

I'm afraid I'm with you. Wanna join our pity party in Totton?

Sorry, you aren't in as good a position as @Nights King

You'll do well for a 7 minutes flurry.

Once the timer goes off at 7 minutes it moves on to someone else! All in the name of fairness ya know lol

The latest text update mentions rain moving in on Thursday and the TV weather showed 5 degrees for the region.  To be fair if all were going to get us freezing cold dry weather, the sooner it warms up the better!
