Some showers showing over IOW too and radar saying it’s snow... @isleofwightsnowgal @Isleofwightsnowgal74

(sorry don’t know which is your current one without looking back )

Fingers crossed for some long reaching streamers overnight and into the next couple of days!

Nothing here in Shanklin...yet I’d be happy with a couple of flurries ❄️

I'm game.... I'll use your words

<<EDIT: - Is done but suspect will get lost in the 100s of postings per minute going on over there... some have got proper snow - good to see wherever it lands in the South of the UK! >>

Seen it lol.... Not sure there is much humour in that thread... More panic and sweaty palms.... It seems things are picking up over that way....

I swear we were having a few snow grains here in Yate a few minutes ago but it might have just been my cigarette ash swirling about in the breeze!

This made me chuckle

The phycology of a snow starved weather fanatic.. love it!

At least while our blizzards here in west country are delayed a little it has allowed this cold dry easterly to dry out our surfaces a little ready and cool it all down.

I am kind of hoping that snow in south east from low clears away faster so we can allow this shower activity to start driving our weather fortunes.

Spotted a massive white flake floating down but unfortunately it turned out to be a feather from a fat pigeon in the trees

There are however some teeny tiny snow grains now floating about, the wind has picked up, and the blue patches of sky are diminished.

Agreed! Plus another benefit of snow is it hides the mud looking forward to not being covered head to toe in mud every day! Though for the first time since 2013 I have developed chilblains!!

If the cloud was to break up, would the sun be strong enough to trigger convection, or is it still too early in the year for that?

Wouldn't expect anything like that today, but over the next few days where the cloud clears,. Maybe?

Euro 4 highlighting the favourable angle on the streamers coming in NE/SW as storm Darcy pulls away. Certainly possibilities of these showers making it over the Westcountry with a stiff breeze. If you are lucky enough to be in the direct line of one the streams the showers could just keep coming.

Nothing to dramatic, but will be interesting to watch this evolve into tomorrow.

Met office has me down for either light cloud or thicker cloud from now until Friday ....when it then offers up an hour or two of light rain.

Are we really that desperate

Just highlighting the risk of some snow showers pushing through some places tomorrow. Seeing as we have a very cold week coming up it would be nice if a few of us could get a dusting early on.

Thames streamer potential there me thinks.

Bare in mind during BFTE in 2018 some of us had a Thames streamer with fairly persistent light to moderate snow late on 28th February 2018, this wasn't really forecast though some of the hi-res models hinted at some light precipitation from streamers earlier in the day.

Don't take the intensity of the streamers shown on models like this as gospel. Could be more of an event.
