Not a lover of salad cream, but Chip Butty OMG, and Captain Birdseye  love 'em...

Suppose we best get back to talking weather...it's raining...STILL...now up to 27.6 mm, did I miss the MetO warning of  flooding due to heavy rainfall?

This weather pattern were in has officially become depressing! Did I pee off the weather gods or what joking about how I hoped sheikky missed out on the snow lol, that part of the Midlands got loads of snow at the weekend & now this weekend looks like a repeat!

The damn jet stream just isn't south enough, the whole pattern needs to shift south west for any hope of us getting in on the fun & games.

Fear not the jet stream will shift southwards...in APRIL.

Classic quote in the MOD thread emanating from the Midlands:

"but even then nothing more than around 4inches."

Oh, how the other half live.

Morning all.

Met office suggesting a couple hours light snowfall from 10am, turning to sleet then rain from midday. Beeb have nothing until midday and it then starting as light rain.

Not got much hope for anything but it’s always nice to see some falling snow if nothing else so hopefully the Met are right, we’ll see!

0C and cloudy after dropping to -1C. Temp isn’t racing upwards for a change so may see some flakes before it turns to rain. Who knows. My expectations have always been low for today.

So have mine as I just thought it was going to be rain.... Met office upgrade, they must want me to go into panic mode..!!!!

Edit: you can tell it’s bad for snow down here can’t you

Ok. Im going to take a punt here, and tbh its against the models...but the latest nowcast situation leads me to think that the North East of the region will have sleet and wet snow, potentially for hours, starting from mid day...Bridgewater to wells to Bristol type area....and IF it can intensify it might just "suprise" a few people today and settle.

The wind is from the East, the temps are low, solar impact is minimal, 850s are poor to be fair, but I just think it might snow in the North and NE of the region.

Lets see where we are at midday and i will update my thoughts.

Yes possibly the lowest punching winter we’ve had for a while. All these great synoptics and we’re dealing with such marginality...

Then again... we could be in East Anglia relying on a phantom easterly...

according to Met Office auto weather, it's 1c, it's nothing but pure rain here, can't even see a hint of sleet in it

Dog walk around shaftesbury at 230 m, ground frozen and ice on puddles with temperature now just above freezing.

If any precipitation reaches us I guess it will be light snow.

Heard 2 woodpeckers as well

Morning All, another soggy day yesterday of 28.3mm, and overnight low of 1.2°C , now currently 1.7°C , looking dark to the W/SW  as the inbound rain is encroaching..as the beachcam shows this morning..
