The temperature dropped quickly just after my last post as the front went through giving a few minutes of heavy rain and very strong winds. Much calmer now with a lighter breeze and it's almost stopped raining. 5.6°C

Another crack of thunder and probably hail about to hit me.

Pink sun shining from the East and ominous looking sky to the west. Still pretty white on surfaces. Looks good out there at the moment!

Quite a heavy, persistent hail shower in Poole just now, decent sized stones, grass is almost white. Went for a walk earlier and there was lots of high cloud about so I was not expecting that.

National weather forecast looks good for our region early hours of Sunday morning, showed a band of snow crossing & nothing marginal about it.

I agree but there must be some doubt if the Met office aren't on board yet. Whether the snow warrants a weather warning is another question but we'll see tomorrow.

It was a good morning for weather watching, for sure. Very similar to my views.

Yeah, news 24, waiting for a met office youtube update video that covers Sunday to see what they show.

Wouldn't it be ironic to have missed countless opportunities for snow from the northwest-northeast so far this winter that have fallen flat due to marginality, then snow coming in from the west is not marginal at all...

I'm not going to hold my breath and will just hope for a surprise. At least we have timing on our side for once.

GFS's take on Sundays potential snow.....a bit slower and almost a mini slider! However there has been so many different scenarios with this that we're prob none the wiser for now.

Westcountry looking well positioned as of this run, with the front stalling and almost pivoting. Nice continental draw ahead as well. If this could get a little more potent could be decent.

A repeat of February 1st 2019 would be nice where the system stalled over our region and gave a day of steady snow. Nothing overly heavy but it soon built up.
