I hope you don't mind me posting this mood booster on this miserable day.

Subject to ridiculous change.

Thanks for the observation midnight snow, my weather station is at Yate too (parents house) and I’m down the road in Frampton Cotterell. So that’s a red line day for me then with snow falling ❄️

Wow you're the exact opposite to me. I live in Yate and my parents live in Frampton

Frampton or Yate doesn’t matter with that chart MS if it ever came to pass. Sledding order of the day there at St John’s church slopes Old Sodbury

You have good taste in sledding slopes. ❄️

I'm tired of tracking hit and miss light snow showers. Give me some of this:

God if only that could happen. this winter has been terrible so far.

Too much hope and no reward. 5 mins of light snow is all ive managed so far.

Pretty disappointing day overall, 20 mins of sleetyness around 9am and then occasional drizzle on and off - Meto well overboard with the yellow warning yet again. Im afraid cold rain just doesnt cut it for me

This is what we want followed by a pivot down into Devon and Cornwall for the rest of the SW crew.

I think the problem is, many don't realise that the pressure needs to be adjusted when you get a weather station. They are never correct out of the box (unless it happened to be coincidence) Many stations don't mention this in the instructions, unfortunately.

Some stations have two or three options; Relative pressure and Absolute pressure and height above sea level. Others will have just Relative pressure and Absolute pressure. The relative pressure is the one you should adjust, by getting a reading from somewhere else as close to your location as possible.

If there's only one pressure option, it would still need to be manually adjusted to a pressure reading close by.

That would be very good for everyone, and I’d welcome that - but being totally IMBY and very greedy, can it pivot just north of where I am in Stroud near Gloucester?? We’d be buried here for days!

Just had a look in here - you’re not wrong! Mind you there was the ‘possibility’ of light snow falling all day today for half this region from the middle of last night, and onto very cold ground as well... having looked at the radar on and off today, not really surprised it’s so quiet! Could have been a nice surprise day. Oh well, winter isn’t half done yet, and I’m very lucky where I am, have seen 3 minor snow events and a fair bit of frost. Very different to last winter. I also drove through rapidly rising flood water in my high sided van - that came up to the bottom of my windows - just before Christmas. Didn’t manage that last winter either!

Yes this winter is a definite improvement on last year already. Just frustrating that it never snows when it’s meant to

It's been an improvement for the fact it's been quite cold or chillier but no snow for here but it's a darn site better than last year. As some would say there is still potential but will it materialise

It did get back down below zero briefly, but has just crept back above. Hoping for a -4 or -5°C tomorrow night!
