Broke the record by 0.4c. That’s impressive. Amazing day out there. It certainly feels hotter than I can ever remember, not very scientific I know, but this feels different. For one the humidity seems higher than 50 to 60%. Maybe I’m getting older or the beer fat i have grown over lockdown is swaying things

Astonishing weather today - just incredible.

I am about half a mile from the sea here in Bangor and recorded my highest temperature ever today at 28.6C - so unusual for this location.

The sea breeze kicked in at 3.30pm and sent the temp right back to 21 degrees by 4.30pm.

Amazing to think that the highest temperature ever recorded here was just a few miles away!

Was down at Tyerrla Beach at 8pm tonight and it was like Spain.

Still loads of folk in the water and sunning themselves.

Crazy times.

So weather warnings out for extreme heat , I can't recall ever seeing these types of warnings for us, happy to be corrected of course!

I'm melting already today.

Looks like another week left of dry weather then the start of August looks awful.

Tbh I am not a fan of high temps especially as I can't ffing sleep with it!! Yup start of August looking rubbish but I suspect we might see a decent spell of weather towards the middle end of August. When I say suspect I mean hopefully the last 2 weeks of August as I am off on leave!!

Wonder could this spell be the last real heat of the Yr considering the end of the month is looking much cooler.  By the time the weather gets decent again we could be talking about near mid August which at that stage summer is beginning to fade.

Doing well to get this, anyway anything hovering around 20 is good enough for me

Would be amazing and worrying at the same time if Northern Ireland broke its record again tomorrow.  That would be 3 times in the space of a week..

Amazing yes however if you think about it, the more worrying part would be regularly breaking it every year or so. Incredible spell for NI though!

Belfast telegraph reporting a new provisional heat record of 31.4 degrees in Armagh. Will it be beaten elsewhere though?

What an extraordinary period of weather.

Will this become the norm with climate change?
