On lunchtime weather forecast that northern western parts of Ireland to get some sleet with snow on high ground from frontal feature tonight. Very transient though so not much by way of snow cover likely. Cold rain for northeast, milder wet & very windy elsewhere.

Snow accumulated in parts of Cork,Kerry and Limerick last night. Not sure what fell overnight here but there was zilch this morning.

That is unusual.....I would have thought northwest would have been favoured......just goes to show that snow can occur even with these current "milder" looking synoptics....possibly chance of a colder spell again by early March based on latest model runs ...one to keep an eye on...winter may not be done with us just yet

Was just coming in to say that. GFS 12z showed it and it peaked my interest a bit, but ECM showing height rises to our north at the tail end of it's run has drawn me in again!! Something to keep the mind busy with a hobby and away from the doom of modern life!

Both 18z GFS runs keeping the early March cold spell theme going......looks like there could be some potent cold uppers available to tap into if it comes off....let's see how this develops over coming says.....2013 and 2018 showed us that March can deliver serious cold, snow and even ice days.....both years also had SSW impacts similar to this year,so  wouldn't rule a potent cold spell out .....

Feel like I'm talking to myself in here lately!!! A squall line passed through earlier today, temperature went from 10.0 down to 3.5 degrees in about 5 minutes, and in the heaviest fall, there was snow and hail in the mix. It's wild out there now!

ECHO echo echo echo echo....

There was one of those real squally showers I thought seemed winters up here too. I can’t tell the temperature any  more as the weather station finally but the dust

Lovely big fluffy flakes of snow falling, pity it isn’t sticking!

Was really fed up having no outside temp readings. Spotted this in the bargain bin in Lidl. Can’t really go wrong for £10.40 I suppose.

Had some wet snow here this morning too. Could see slieve gallion earlier and was totally white. I'd rather a bit of spring warmth though to be honest.

Just had a big rumble of thunder there then the wind lifted the play house and greenhouse off the ground. The playhouse nearly blew away lol.

There was snow on the top of the Donegal hills and the Sperrins this morning.
