Angie’s latest forecast a bit more optimistic.

Looks like a trough moving across early Sunday morning, but doesn't look very significant.

I hate the term Wintry though as that includes sleet.

Colder upper air temps sinking South tomorrow so showers should turn increasingly to snow during the day and continue over the weekend.....most of the showers in the north and west ....maybe more organised band during Saturday night or early Sunday ....severe frosts too up to Monday night......not a bad outlook for next 3 or 4 days before milder weather arrives again during late Monday night or Tuesday.....hopefully just a blip before more sustained cold  returns for late Jan / early Feb....plenty of winter left and vortex not expected to recover anytime soon...

Last night was an absolute bust but to be fair Friday evening and into the weekend looks much better. Gavs weather video shows this nicely...

I used to have a pilot's licence years ago before my hearing went and recognised the runway number for Derry.

Sorry to hear about your hearing! Yep that's certainly it too, the NW sure is a nice area to be flying around, especially on a crisp winters morn.

We had a short shower there in Limavady that was mostly graupel with a little rain but it was very short lived.

Ok. It snowed

For about 5 minutes now it's faded to nothing!

Hopefully you get plenty more during this spell....encouraging that showers are already turning to snow with colder air incoming tomorrow.....I think some will be pleasantly surprised over next few days....

Starting to snow here now and a slight covering on the hills. After watching that BBC forecast I am really hopeful for tonight. Coleraine Mountain has a covering to.

No snow here but a nice frost. Was -1.6c earlier. I'm going to take a more laid back approach to chasing snow from now on. If it comes it's comes. No point getting hopes up then being left disappointed again.

More organised showers moving into the NW now, hopefully they stick together as they move inland

The sun's up now though, so showers will be increasingly sleet and rain away from high ground I think.

And they look to be fizzling out as they hit the Antrim county border.
