All we need to here is mountain is polishing his sledge, then it’s game on

It will be a week a nervous week and constant watching of models, I really would like one big snow event this year

Given the ahem "rubbish" we have seen within the northerlies this week I remain on the fence lol, although someone mentioned earlier in the model thread (I know) that the Meto are keeping an eye on an Icelandic low this Saturday bringing potential disruptive snow.... anyway we shall see

There's your greicland pocket slider think that's what we should call them from now on.

Watching some crap movie with the Mrs.

Amazing GFS of course, but way different to the ECM and UKMO.

Let's see what the 0z bring before I get the sledge out.

Awe I wish you could all experience a snow storm like an Iceland snow storm. I really need to get a wee video sorted.

As usual it's in La La land. Lol

GFS still showing snow potential from Tuesday until next Tuesday. Granted it isn’t showing the mega Saturday chart it did last night but the potential for snow fall is still there

Long may the landscape covered in white continue!  Preferably by snow than frost!

Those GFS charts do look good for snow later in this week, but it would be just our luck that they get diluted to a damp squib , and we are having to deal with warm sectors once again!

As expected, the GFS backs down.

Need to see whether we get something from the trough dropping down later in the week, as after that, it's another waiting game.

From my short personal observation we seem to have either +5°c and rain or -5°c and clear skies.

I much more prefer the cold then the wet. This morning was absolutely lovely with everything frozen with little crystal everywhere

Just a thought, even as such a small island as ours has wildly different weather events depending on where you are on the island. Would there be much call for provincial threads for Ireland? Say Leinster, Ulster, Munster and Connaught? Or is that too much?

Wouldn't be much call for it I dont think.

In the meantime I think we'll be into week 3 of January before we see some impacts of the SSW.
