1C, full cloud cover, no wind or ppn. An unsteady dripping to be heard as the last remnants of this mornings snizzlings gives up the struggle to stay solid. Oh the joys of coastal winter. Blink and miss it.

Every forecast shows us getting pulses of rain tomorrow. I will be keeping the curtains closed and WFHing upstairs.

Great video - well worth a watch! Plenty of detail from North to South regarding snow potential.

Well that makes for depressing viewing. Nevermind.

Peebles could be the sweet spot..love!y town. Went there either early Jan 2010 or 2011 was amazed at the amount of snow. Totally different to the Ayrshire coast...which must be on of the least snowy places in the UK and Scotland !

Main action for the West/Central parts arrives after midnight - early hours hold the most snow potential! That’s the plan at least.

All ties in nicely with the latest Met Office forecasts.

I am quite happy with all that from a purely IMBY perspective (wee tweak here and there would be better!) - hopefully it becomes reality for myself and many others of course!

Wee tweet here for the South of Edinburgh ladies and gents.

The radar in the last 30 mins or so looks as if it’s showing the main pulse of precipitation starting to move in a more northerly direction rather than north easterly.
(although this might just be wishful thinking).

Out with dog... Does not feel chilly

Pouring rain

Maybe will turn later and I will get some 101 (modern speak for snow)

Garden sensor says 0c. Heading in the right direction!

That’s good, it would be nice to drop below 0. The snow that fell last night was very wet by this morning and in complete contrast to the other week when the snow was powdery and dry.

I suppose it shows how decent a winter it’s been so far, that I’m now getting fussy.

May as well make good use of my latest capture. LIVE shot at 8pm.

Someone mentioned few pages back about the remnant low (squared) aiding some of the ppn from last night and how it's still out west. It is indeed and if anything it's firing up a little.. There's a lot of cold air in that area and soon it'll mix with Christoph's outer (warmer) clouds. After midnight will be pretty interesting maybe even further west than thought.

(BTW, Christoph should now be on the way rapid deepening soon).

Each image is 7Mb in size.

That was me! And yes, I think its not going to add any "energy" to our precipitation chances tonight. But just how far it digs south will play a big factor in how far north the snow shield makes it.

Been snizzle snow here for an hour , 0.2C , you need a bit of heavier intensity for it to turn to snow and it will likely stay like that.

After a look at the other regionals some areas around North East Wales and the Manchester area are seeing some heavy snow - not forecast! Shows how uncertain everything is.

Looking pretty crap for my area but then again you never know. Chart shows some heavy pockets of precipitation about so may get lucky
