I've got sleet with a fair few flakes... will be interesting if it stays like that or comes to anything decent

Trying to turn to snow here . I wonder how this will effect things in the days ahead as the precipitation was not meant to be this far north tonight

Beautiful night here at -2°C, very frosty.

Took its time to de-sleet but now snowing here. A slow slide down from 2.4C to 1.6C over the past 90 mins.

It never ceases to amaze me how much of a difference the height makes.  My folks live in Oakbank / Hillend and they had twice what I had last week - It can be white up there and wet down here in the town very easily indeed

For a great real time example of the abrupt change in air mass along the English Border, check out the wet traffic camera at Carter Bar which is slightly higher than the very white camera at Soutra. Must be a forecaster's nightmare!

Classic lowland Scottish winter weather of slush on car windscreens and wheelie bin lids here . Wet snow and sleet falling quite steadily but just the wrong side of marginal. A good night for indoors!

Edo, don't I know it I live right next to the South Inch, so I've already come within inches of being flooded since moving into this ground floor flat - I'm eventually eyeing up something more towards Broxden

Using a quadrifilar helix antenna () at nearly 40ft height, a USB dongle, laptop with fast processor and some other relevant software, here we are right into the nitty gritty of Storm Christoph as the Meteor M2 weather satellite went overhead the storm.  Can't get any more up to date (at this time).  First image 7.4mb so good to enlarge and see what's going all around. Cold air south of Iceland about to meet the storm and then head east towards UK = explosive. 

Now, where's ma snow?

Transitioned to snow at 40m at Perth, 0.5C now. Very happy right now.
