Looking at the amber warning, it seems to take in the eastern suburbs of Glasgow, much of North Lanarkshire too, I wonder if that’s them hedging their bets by making it bigger, or someone has been liberal with the colouring in apps? Or maybe there could be a risk of decent snow here too?

I’m in the south of the city not much above sea level. Not banking on much if any, but I’ll keep my eye out. My phone app is quite convinced of several hours of snow from tomorrow morning onwards.

I recall an even in March 2010 where the city centre just had wet snow, but outlying areas towards Coatbridge saw lying snow. Maybe it’ll be similar this time although amber warning suggests that totals should be significant.

Anyone know why the Glencoe / Nevis webcams are clear when the radar shows these areas being plastered by preceipitation?

Looks like it's pithing down there - cameras showing shiny wet roads...

Well, I'm bracing myself for severe disappointment here - Forecasts say snow, but the experts in here say freezing rain (yuck!) - I know who I'm going with - Where is my bowl of cornflakes to cry into, Catch?

Good afternoon, hope you all enjoy your snow. Not jealous whatsoever, need to get somewhere to experience 20cm of snow. Amazing when you think I haven't in what is coming up to my 21st.

Definitely looks to be marginal for some, but if you are lucky to be in the right spot then you may end up with a fair dumping.

Enjoy guys

Yesterday evening the frost lifted for a couple of hours and then descended again late on and the snow sparkled again. This morning dawned overcast and -1c  and even now its cloudy and 0c. Sky looks threatning but we may well get nothing.

Rain, rain, rain. And cold rain at that. Thoroughly unpleasant.

Keep the faith @TinyTimthere is still a decent possibility of serious snowfall here.... 20 per cent chance.. The 5 to 1 shots do come in now and again.... All we need is the slightest of nudges down on a few parameters and we can be sledging tomorrow... Better clear my diary and get the kids to tell their teachers won't be schooling....

Then again might be staring out at icy rain again
