I was just going to mention this - it does look like they might be lining up quite nicely for a similar line of attack to last night...

It chimes with the UKV output too, which has pretty high precipitation totals here through to 2am or so.

Maybe the Amber could be extended to the early hours

@Benvironment i was just sat doing the same thing and then mrs Mair Snaw came into the kitchen and turned the light on... now apparently shouting "turn that stained glass windowing light off" is not a very nice thing to do..

Driving 40 miles across the Borders  today there was a noticable difference in the snowfall compared to yesterday. Much longer and heavier showers today. Greenlaw gettin a good pasteing as I passed . Saying that yesterday was magical, intermitent sun and short heavy snow showers, never dropped below 0C. Had to get the Husky and the auld maul oot and set aboot some logs before they got buried. Fab day.

I should make the most of this current blob as the next one is already missing Edinburgh as it made land at Eyemouth!

Think I've underestimated depths here slightly. 5cm fallen today on cleared paths taking the total closer to 19cm! Hoping to break 20cm

i am only at 20 cm despite the motherlode this afternoon ...Been smaller grauple a lot of the time this afternoon. Just been out playing football and snowball fights in beautiful soft snow though....Heavenly winter winter, the type of event would love one of each winter.

Edit: 2021 easterly isn't quite done yet

To be honest if the showers keep coming with this intensity for the next few hours I don’t think 30 cm is out of the question

30 cm total I mean not just tonight

Looking back on the radar, the current blob made landfall at pretty much the same spot, albeit it was smaller.

Saw this on facebook and wondered what happened to the guy who used to live just above there and send videos in of vehicles struggling up in the snow. Was it Polarlow? Meanwhile we are on the edge of showers passing just to the North but for once I have deeper snow than my pal who lives up off Dalmahoy Drive in the higher NW part of the city. Edit just as I said that it has come on heavy again!

Dundee Evening Telegraph

1h  ·

An Xplore Dundee bus has been left stranded on Arran Drive in Charleston with onlookers shocked the route was even attempted with treacherous conditions resulting in services being suspended for a second time today.
