Ladies and gentlemen you are not going to believe it. After a wait of almost 3 years... 😮

I don't suppose I have anything to complain about this winter...      .

I've waited years to get a picture of the house covered with snow.  Finally!

Whoops😂 You must be just on the edge of marginal - going by Wundermap the last places left east of Glasgow with a dewpoint over 0C are right on the Forth, and Cumbernauld seems to be around 1.5/0.3 or so.

so does whatever fall here according to the dewpoint will be snow or is it just a bit marginal ?

I think marginal at the moment, probably non-marginal snow by 1-2am though I'd think

Yeah my dewpoint now down to 0.1C temperature same as @Hawesy also speaking of the Sahara there are some pics of the snow in Europe with the sky extra orange due to Saharan dust, not sure if it will reach up here but pretty interesting

Wind has picked up noticeably in the last hour or so, now gusty from the ESE.

Temperature has risen slightly with that, hovering at 0c (evening low so far is -0.6c).

No snow, though shower activity picking up towards the east that may make it before morning.

Some serious cold on the other side of the North Sea at the moment...

Still a bit gusty, but as far as I can see at the moment - nothing is falling.

Cloudy here, visibility excellent to the Fife horizon, and most definitely lamppost snaw going on. So we're in the change for sure.

We had snow about 30 minutes ago, it must have been the dry fine stuff because the webcam visibility dropped quite a bit, and suddenly the road and pavements started to turn white and I was quite excited.

And less than 5 minutes later, it's pretty much all gone.

I suspect it was dry stuff landing on (everything is) drenched ground, and basically melting away.

    Temperature still -0.1C

You can see a bit of the dusting in the parking bay area on the right

Morning all. Well nice to see horrible cold damp surfaces all finally dried up in nice cold air and very low dp's. North sea does look to be firing up a bit now so ground ready to take it here...just very little falling!  Some amazing pictures from elsewhere and further inland 😊. Anyone with more knowledge than me hazard a guess on the  convection potential based on latest data?

I think we see the heavier blobs in thr north sea seperate a bit and become heavier. Later this evening there are hints of more organised showers across like E Scotland ( Tayside, Aberdeenshire and Fife) developing streamer in those areas.

Cold waves hitting Europe continue to threaten growers, is there a link to climate change?

Much of Europe, not just the UK, has experienced unseasonably cold weather since the Easter Weekend. A plunge of cold arctic air brought by northerly winds early last week brought several nights of frost and even snow across large swathes of Europe, followed by another wave of cold arctic air spreads across much of Europe this week. The frosts causing damage to new growth in vineyards and orchardsa0spurred on by a late March heatwave, the vineyards of France werea0particularly badly affected.
