Outside just  now guiding a feed lorry in who was very late after breaking down in Aberdeenshire in driving snow. Driver was not in the best of humour

Miserable   night after a very sleety day even the eight wheeler lorry was struggling to turn  on the ice. Now snowing at 1c and flakes getting dryer.

 Can"t wait for the colder air to arrive to dry things up

So much rain in Kirkcaldy @98asl the council has brought out the drain cleaners to sook up a flooded path. Apologies never uploaded a video here before hope it works. What model picks up streamer chances from the North Sea  the best? Convection is it called?

Amber warning for snaw? MetO about as far oot as their first sh1te with that one. 

2.1°C/2°C and hosing it down. Obviously. And the funting temperature is climbing...

Today's Express at 7am with Nathan Rao 'back in the room' Boris/Brexit combo took the main spot by 9am. My 'Express Sh**e' folder has a few headline claims collected in it.

I almost feel guilty for posting that it's still snowing here as I seem to be one of the very few that's in a position to say that. Never overly heavy, but constant.

Would it be churlish to moan that the snow is still a bit too wet to drift in the strengthened wind, even although it is building up to an impressive depth?

Is it an angry chicken pecking at John O Groats or a friendly duck nuzzling the Moray Firth? It's got a cold ear to be sure.

Been "snowing" here for a few hours now and there's a fresh covering of 1cm. Temperature still stuck at 1C.

My day off work tomorrow is going to get cancelled at this rate.

Very heavy snow here in Aboyne tonight. A little on the wet side but can't complain. Difficult to gauge depth and spent 2hr shovelling snow this morning and expect I'll be doing the same again tomorrow. Have had two great days snowboarding with my 6yr old son after home schooling in a field 5min from the front door. Missing a poma but can't complain. Expect the snow might end up too deep tomorrow but taking my skis with me. Still viewing some ridiculous accumulated falling snow totals during the next week.

A truly foul day. Sleet, some wet snow late morning then incessant rain. It’s not even feeling that cold now.
 

Huge amount of water pouring off the fields and small watercourses are full and overflowing. Never mind the snow warnings,   today would have warranted a yellow warning for rain in these parts.

Odd sleety stuff getting thrown around out there in a rather angry blustery breeze. The oil boiler and the log stove AND the electric radiators have been on the last few days - something to do with the average age in this house now being around 70!

(When we moved here 20 years ago the average age (youngish family was about 23!)

Today is a special day in the shuggee household. We have hot water for the first time since 27 Dec.  And had no heating whilst new hot water equipment fitted for three days. 

It's been intense.

Don’t feel guilty...we’ve had snow all day here in Glenlivet. Max 1C/ dp -1C. Now 0C/ dp -1C. Pic from this afternoon...couldn’t use the paths by fields as the drifting snow has filled them! Meant to be passing your place en route to Aberdeen tomorrow morning...or not, as the case may be

Temperature highest if the day here now at 4.4C with heavy driving rain. Noticed a distinct temperature difference up in Perthshire with 5.1C reported at Inveralmond (Perth) in heavy rain and1C at Dunkeld just up the A9 in heavy snow. Quite often i the snow starts just up from Bankfoot but that is quite a difference in such a short space with no significant altitude difference.

Finally done at work, and drive (sail) home car reading 6c, I do hope the weekend holds better prospects.
