Morning all, a relatively toasty -3.6c the minimum here so not actually the coldest night of the winter as I recorded -3.7c back in January. Still time for the temperature to drop further though.

A much chillier -10c recorded at Leuchars and unofficial stations in central Fife are reading as low as -16c. Given the temperature at Strathallan this seems plausible.

Morning everyone. Woken to a balmy -13.5c/-15.4c this morning, wonder if it’ll drop any lower?

What a great Winter it has been in Scotland - lying snow from coast to coast, record breaking depths for some parts, prolonged cold spells and now this official minimum temperature! Tough ask to beat that through the remainder of February.

Careful out there, I had a cracking fall last night, the snow on the back step had turned to black ice with walking on it, I opened the door to dump some stuff in bin, stepped out and before I knew what was happening I was lying vertical across the door way. I was wearing slippers so that  didn't help they ended up lying about 5 feet away where the bins are. When I landed on the door frame on my back I heard a sort of clicking/crack sound and thought uh oh the worst what have I done. Luckily ok, just a grazed elbow and a big black bruise line on my back where I hit the door frame.

Had a laugh about it later but could have ended worse. Needless to say I have now covered the back patio area in table salt!

Currently -10.8C with an overnight low of -12.0C. There are benefits of living a bit higher up, the current one being avoiding the really extreme temperatures just further down in the valley.

Morning all. Just the -8 here in the city at my house. Not sure how accurate as recently moved house so not used to micro local trends here. Also my sensor is buried under snow!

What is best site for unofficial temperatures? I know it previously been posted so apologies!

As expected the lower temperatures were to be found down in the valley.

This is the scene on the B992 between my village and Whitehouse.

This morning has given the lowest temperatures of 2010 a run for their money.

Stepped outside to feed my resident blackbird his morning cheese, oh wow it’s blooming freezing says -8 on phone app feels much colder than that . Some car read outs are at -13 here this morning ! 
 

I just love winters like this ! What a brilliant spell of weather .

Got down to -7.3 last night. Thought this was a pretty cool sunrise.

Absolutely remarkable! After a decade of struggling to record -15C it’s amazing we’ve beaten 2010. -20C has been so rare over the past 30 years I was beginning to doubt if we’d get close to 2010 or 2001 in the 2020s. -11C is also the coldest recorded at Glasgow airport in February since 1991.

Good morning fellow frozen Kilties! A wee bit nippy in Braemar then! Lowest overnight here was -6.8c, now up to -6c. Positively tropical! Will take a while to defrost the car for a trip to get supplies in. Coal man arriving today ( I hope! ) which is just as well as I'm running low on that too! Glad to hear you are out of hospital @Blitzen. Just make sure everyone else in the household is running at your beck and call! 

For all that we've had minus temperatures for a few days, yesterday there was a muirburn near Broadford which got out of control. Everything a bit on the dry side, two fire engines that I know of headed down that way with blues and twos going. Well dodgy! I also saw a muirburn on Raasay the other night about 9pm and that looked stunning. 

Take care everyone, conditions are not great for walking or driving. I drive with clenched jaw and gritted teeth and at a low speed during weather like this. Relax and have a dram when I get home knowing that I'm well stocked up and the weather can do as it likes!

Incredible cold, my garden fence sensor down to -8.2c near coast. Squirrel didn't throw it on the floor like it does everything else in search of food.

The kids currently hate me but they're going for a walk if they like it or not! Could be another 11 years before it's minus double digits again here. They should experience it
