Technically I think that it should be minus but as I had the same yesterday go for it.

Here the showers have died away since lunchtime though there is still cloud to the East and the temp has crept up to +0.5C. Radar shows some light activity nearby.
Still a bit short of our depths at end Nov to early December 2010 when we had 5 to 6 days of convection beginning with the night and day of thundersnow and far more disruption but definitely the second best event here this century and probably some time before that by a mile.

I remember staying at my Granny's house near the Morgan Academy, as a kid, sometime in the late 70's or early 80's, and seeing buses sliding backwards down the Fofar Road. The snow was up to my knees, but I can't remember how small I was then...

I'm fine if this was it. 2010 caused massive flooding when it melted (in places), considering the flooding that happened before the snow arrived, this lot will likely cause some problems when it starts to thaw.

About to hit here. You can't beat that slightly orange light that is cast when a good snow shower rolls in on an otherwise sunny day. Also a few more building towards East Lothian so maybe a few more showers before it's done!

This is going to be an interesting night, we've gone  from -2.1 to the current -4.9c in just 40 minutes, and that is before the full setting of the sun.

This is quite mesmerising, every minute it's changing, now -6.2c.  Lovely sunset as well.

It would be great if somewhere in Scotland could drop to below -20C

I vote: Not It!

When we dropped to -14.5C previously, the pooch screamed in pain when I took her out for a walk. So I will be happy to stay around -10C but don't want to go much below that.....

I'll let someone else take the batton.

(That said, we are in a frost hollow, so if anywhere is going to plummet... )

Last on this for a few hours before I get banned for spamming this site, but now -7.8c - at this rate, a record breaker for here where lowest I've recorded is -13.2c.

Keep posting! I am interested to see how low and how fast you fall.

Slightly lower here at -9C. I used to have quite a nice weather station until one of the dog's took exception and crushed it. Unfortunately this means trips outside to check the garden thermometer. Not ideal!

Quite literally dropping like a stone. I see Altnaharra is already down to -10C but I suspect Braemar is most likely to record the lowest temperatures.
