Calling it a night here. Spent most of the night watching the lamppost and radar. Light snow on now.... and likely most of night ??❄️

Ha, just been hit by this science fiction vertical blob from here to Kirkcaldy that was all graupel. It was only the noise on the window that made me even look out. Pesky mini blobs like this are popping up, I'd be as happy to get a good frost in now to be honest.

My god what is the blob towards Edinburgh doing, absurd intensity!

Still very heavy stuff here, brilliant if this is the end of it.

No there is more to come... its an all nighter a lock in...

The evening BBC news showed merging showers pushing through the central belt from a ENE direction right through til late morning tomorrow... Graphic backs it up also

Pretty decent stuff falling right now and that’s before the gift from Coatbridge arrives!

Bringing this back to review (original post Saturday). Some over/under estimation (and definitely under for Dundee) but overall I don’t think I need to hang my head in shame!

20cm here

Very interesting.... When you see how much these showers have exploded out of nothing.... Can't wait to see how this batch reacts as they hit land. They're starting out far far beefier than what we're seeing just now

Get that Amber warning back now

Just hit here. Heavy so far. For such a short shower it's leaving it's mark!

Well these blobs to the north-east are not without interest and certainly moving in the right general direction. Might be the last hurrah for here but no chance I'm waiting up to 3AM to find out! Que sera sera

Quite the sight, first time ever we have had GCC in gritting the roads in our streets and at midnight of all times. How exciting.

Certainly not! Fife location LS was at 5 inches at lunchtime prior to some very intense showers, no measurements since but, you can decide, could be 18cm? I also think there's a reasonable shot they get more too

Why the hell are they shoveling the grit out of the back of a van rather than just driving a spreader through?

A slight change in the flow is helping up your way as there is more of a North Easterly element. The NE flow has reached here now with our last couple of showers being much lighter with much longer between them. The radar showed them pretty much tracking down the coast from Aberdeen to here weakening all the way. That same NE element might help SE Scotland later on in the night as well as you guys up in Moray and Inverness.
