Snowlover, having seen the radar on and off since about 4am Kelty, Glenrothes etc seem to have been the absolute sweet spot today, you guys have been getting pasted !

I think the shower clouds are starting to move in a more straight Easterly rather than ENE of earlier.

(Looking good for Edinburgh and Lothians going by the radar).

No showers yet, everything passing to the north or south of us.

In compensation lots of lovely sunshine, there is some heat in the sun now as remarkably the greenhouse has reached 16c (its well insulated).

Currently -0.3c and calm.

Not often you see these trying their luck on the feeders...

Masses of finches again of all varieties, by far the most common bird in the garden..

A relatively modest snowfall here (about 4-5cm), but still feels like a proper winter's day, with more showers now and then.

Quite a change from yesterday - photos from almost the same spot yesterday afternoon and this morning:

The odd glimmer of sunshine too, and a tiny snowman waiting for a bus!

It's been more showery, mostly light here since last night but it looks like near 2 inches lying now.

Heavy and prolonged snow shower been affecting Aberdeen for 1 hour now - several new inches of snow have fallen on top of what we already have. Will try and get a measurement later

Wow that was a long catch up after a busy morning at work.... 

No snow here today so far but certainly not complaining after our feast last night and a level 16cm measured this morning. 

I'm so happy and not stressing about out the firing line today so far as the sledge Hill will be in mint condition for at least 5 days I reckon.

Probably (and this is just a hypothesis) feeding off the slight increasing in surface heating from diurnal effects.

The earlier fax (I think) had that line south of Edinburgh at 1800 so not sure if that's wrong or it starts to sink this afternoon

You lads have definitely caught it good. You can see this snowstorm approaching looking East from Langfourgin.

 And then snow falling.

The heaviest snow I have seen this winter in Balmedie.  Sky is dark with it.

Really not catching any showers here. Still either to the north or fizzling out. Nice lunchtime walk though. 
 

 

Edit: some lovely fluffy flakes now falling again. Nice to watch but not going to make much impact on the ground.

This lot are lined up right at me. Bringing moderate rather than heavy snow and not as windy. This may let the showers last longer though.
