Yeah it’s unreal how they work their warnings,,,,it bodes well for us the fact there is still showers packing in north of Dundee,,,,I’m no expert but I would say we still have a 24hr window of shower activity here at least

15 minutes higher up the hill. This is next to the forestry track. Unbelievable amounts if snow where its drifted.

I gave up trying to catch up on last nights posts, you’ve all been so busy! Have thoroughly enjoyed seeing all your photos and videos tho.

Potentially another 2-3 inches of snow fallen in Banchory since my son cleared the paths yesterday morning. The dog depth detector would confirm that as the snowballs are attaching to their stomachs. I’ll check the table depth later but it’s looking like around 6” total so far.

Currently -2.0c/-4.2c, overnight lows of -3.9c/-5.c and looking like we’re still going to get the odd shower or two today.

I'm at work in St Andrews but my better half has just messaged to say the snow is belting down in Pittenweem again. Of course the fact that the amber warning has been extended to cover the East Neuk, St Andrews and Dundee obviously jinxes it for us!

Been quite impressed with the yr.no app during this spell. The forecasts have been spot on in the main and the temps match closer to my garden sensor than the Met office app. Even now they have it dry in Edinburgh for the next few hours which looks fairly accurate. They have snow showers bothering the city again from 2pm onwards so be interesting to see what happens. 

I hate the Met Office app but there's a wee gem called Weather Forecast: UK by Onjara Software in the Google Play store that uses Met Office data and forecasts but in a much more user friendly interface.

Currently still a sunny -3.4C here after a max so far of -2.1C. Looking at Wunderground that's positively tropical compared to the temps in some places, even some still in minus double digits so I suspect there are going to be quite a few impressively cold maximums for the day in places.

Met o have extended their snow and ice warnings to Friday for the north east.  Snow seems to be just missing us to the south of Aberdeen at the moment.

Exactly to be fair it's been ok here, we've had a fairly consistent if light compared to yesterday streamer which seems to consist of convection filling in the gaps in the Forth from the bridges and heading inland, but it'll definitely head back south as the day goes on from what I can see and Lothian and Borders will probably see more persistent stuff overnight as the flow turns more northerly and gets a bit slacker.
