Went to bed expecting nothing here as the east wind pushes the showers over the lothians instead of me. However there must have been a very slight n/ne flow kick in!! Good couple of inches now  not as much as just to my north but i will take it some good drifting now too

I wonder what the ratio of "being out enjoying the snow" vs "studying the shape and track of the next shower on radar" is.

Better take my ruler for a walk.

Really want to go out and enjoy this for a couple of hours but also really busy with work

Any thought on whether this will keep up all day for Glasgow area, will it be safe to leave it till late afternoon?

I hope the next blob is better! A frustrating near miss with this current one! Caught the top edge but little more than a flurry.

The cluster in question!

Would take some shift for that to impact the Lothians surely? Heading north of the Forth would be my take.

I think you are right. I misjudged the orientation

Could all change during the day but for now (one blob excepted) there doesn't look to be a huge amount heading this way.

Edit: In fact, the blob just south of Dunbar which I had been tracking looks unlikely to trouble Edinburgh now.

Well that was disappointing, ruler refused to show any more than 5cm on even surfaces. Back door drift close to 10cm but not even close to 2018.

Ugh. I wish there was the UK equivalent of this site from the US. @LomondSnowstormor anyone else know of anything? Use this site all the time for mesoscale forecasting back in the States. Would be invaluable right now.

All these juicy blobs and they are just edging past us here at the moment. Hopefully we can get back on the blob for the rest of the day. Wait - that doesn’t sound right??........

I think we need them to arrive between Dunbar and North Berwick for the "bullseye"

Don't need that, SunnyLeith has crayons and a ruler on his screen

The whole system is moving south during today though so we should get another round of the action tonight

For @101_Northand others hoping for more snow around Edinburgh, this is the approximate area that we need to watch for development given the current orientation of the cells.
