That's what would fall from the sky, between non-settling light stuff and the snow condensing itself (can't remember the name for reduction of snow accumulation not caused by melting) your lying snow totals will be quite a bit lower.

Sublimation maybe. Happened in early December 2010.

That's the one thanks, we don't have to worry about it very often on the West Coast of England (I was just looking over your shoulders at your snow pics - some very nice ones they are too - that truck! keep them coming!)

At least yours works. Oh... well maybe

This one that I found in the woods soon after however showed some initial promise but was soon abandoned.

That number plate must be worth a lot more than the scrap metal!

Light fluffy snow has been falling for the last hour or so, now about 1.5cm outside; temperature hovering around 0.5c.  Kids consider me even more bonkers than usual obsessing on the snow, will train them yet...

Apologies for popping in here from the balmy south west but is Scottish Skier still about? Regards

Yes he still frequents but seems to have picked up some Irish Blood somewhere. Now Scottish Irish Skier.

We are just on the cusp of marginality here but it has been snowing all evening. Very wet and slushy but now the heaviest it’s been and starting to stick a little more, even on treated surfaces as a quick walk before bed confirmed.

Thanks for the pics. Small differences, slightly lower altitude here and despite snowing on and off all evening quite heavily at times its not settled at all!

@Hairy Celt do you hear this? She thinks we're gentlemen

@Blitzen I sometimes think about you when I see a snowblower in action. The last time was about 20 mins ago on the afternoon dog walk, the time before that was 21 mins ago and the time before that was 22 mins ago...can you see where this is going? I've never seen so many snowblowers blowing so much snow and I think about you too much because of it ??

-13C was our peak today after 4 inches of snow overnight and this morning:

Snowblowers forever. Still to see one in action.

And with that I head for my pit.
