Weekend looking nice for here; E-NE'er is a total snaw machine for me.

im not great at finding old charts but sure Sun 29th November 2010 was ESE ever so slightly , we did very well here then. Im sure someone could find a better representation of the conditions.

1st post from me..Long time lurker here and on the models discussion. Been light wet snow on and off here most of the day but getting a bit heavier now and starting to settle

Was too busy in work to check outside but it’s definitely snowing again

Showers have stopped for the moment as they look to have coalesced into two streamer bands, one to the North, the other to the South of us.  Note what appear to be radar false returns coming from wind farms (bright red dots) to the NW/N of Alford.

Temperature sticking at 0.7c and a definite slight thaw on the shed roofs; about 1cm lying snow.

Not bad total for the day considering the fun is not really supposed to start here until later in the week.

Hard not to like these views of incoming snow showers...

Horizontal rain in Bo'ness with temp showing at 1.9c.   Weird though as just been out with bins and it didn't feel cold!

A good point, 2018 was exceptional and I think we'd struggle to get close to that (although I suppose it coming a month earlier will also work in our favour both in terms of the North Sea not having cooled quite as much and less sunlight). The 500mb temps on the ECMWF are actually a bit stronger, at least if my colour picker app is right (I wish they'd label a few isobars for us!), -36C over central Scotland by Sunday midday:

I'm a little sceptical of that myself though given the ICON only has it around -32C

Hi there! First post. Here in Glenlivet, NE Cairngorms we have had snow on the ground since 24th December. Today another 6 cm snow. Travelled 10 miles south to Tomintoul to check on my mum’s place ( she’s stuck in Somerset until restrictions lift) and MUCH more there. Currently-1C/ dp-1.5C. Photos taken in Tomintoul at 3pm. Car said -2C.

A decent covering here of aboot 2" although it has been Snawing here most of the day and still is falling and blowing around in the wind! The covering however is definitely different on various types of surfaces

Driving to work this morning and on return this evening and while going through the nearby village of Saline, the top of the village and main street was White with Snaw, while about a 1/4 of a mile down the main street at the bottom of the village it was wet with no Snaw to be seen
