Temp is 1.8c here but I don't think there's much to suggest anything other than rain either.

Yep. I think we're down into the realms of half a mile between my house and a yellow warning

To be fair that's probably about right as it's a short walk to 200m+!

Snow Thursdays is becoming a weekly event at Fort SS.

As @Ravelin noted, the runs have been evolving nicely, with the MetO longer forecast for cold appearing. 

Only the slightest bit milder before colder air pushes in again with the 12Z ECM a cracker. Real cauld-atlantic battle.

Ensembles show mild air really getting nowhere near us, with t850's struggling to reach zero never mind the balmy highs of 5-10 C snow eating conditions. 

Hence the snaw is hanging around and I feel nouvelle snaw will land on auld snaw again this week.

As others have said, it's 'retro' winter, reminding me of my young days learning to ski 'up the hill' (Cairngorm) in the spey valley.

It was cold Atlantic lows that blew snaw into the nothern corries.

Well, having risen to 2.4C for no obvious reason, we've now dropped back down to 1.4C, so we will see....

1.3c here. Not sure why I think that makes a difference though as it lashed with rain the other day at 0.9c

Yeah... we've had rain at 0 before, and snow at 2.5C. I'm just being hopeful (I know it's a fool's errand, but I can't help it)

Been v busy last 24 hrs just clicked Mt and 30 pages in 24 hrs... Must be some teasing charts that work for the SE

 

On the dog walk in shorts... Bit of a mistake no idea of temp but feels v chilly and despite thin layer of cloud the remaining snow crispy again.

Shorts? In Scotland? Has there been some point between 24th December and now where the temperature has been warm enough for shorts, that I have perhaps slept through? ❄❄

Here at 22:30 its...Air +0.8deg/C, Ground -2.1deg/C, Cloud Base -14.6deg/C

At around 6pm it was A+1.2, G+0.8, C.B.-15.6

With those temperatures you would think any precipitation would be snow.

The Beeb Weather is showing rain all day for us Thursday.

However one of the charts is still showing snow.

      

At best I think it will be sleety pish or baltic cold rain...fingers crossed for the white stuff though.

Down to 0.9c here now. Looking ahead I see GFS is off on one for Monday, Tuesday and even into Wednesday  

Edit: Edinburgh Airport showing 3c! Maybe my garden sensor is borked?

Temp down to 1.9c with the front only 30-40miles away... Its been drizzle most of the day so it would be very strange if this ended up being snow! Although explainable I guess since we have a cold easterly surface flow as the front moves in.

I'm hovering between 1.3 and 1.4, so I suspect your sensor is correct. Perhaps the Airport sensor is being affected by concrete/tarmac?

Sleet and wet snow falling here. Not sure if it will come to anything, the higher parts of the M77 are getting a good dump by the looks of the traffic cams but not many other places yet.
