Really looking forward to another walk up the Pentlands. Going to be stunning up there again today. 

It was absolutely stunning! Made it to the base of West Kip. A pristine, crisp winter day!

Evening all!

This all sums up today - tiny dusting, freezing cold, fog and a wee rabbit that I walked past. 

 

 

 

Looking further ahead to Tuesday...Met Office summary from this morning was for a dry, cold and sunny day...

This has now changed...

 

They have been all over the place the last few days with regards to what happens on Tuesday/Wednesday - constantly pushing things back and then bringing them forward! 

ECM latest for Tuesday 12:00

 

Met Office/UKV

14:00

 

15:00

 

Heavy snowfall risk there on both models - interesting to see what happens with this! Could be very decent or a bit of sleet/drizzle! Plenty of time for that track/detail to change. 

Now onto Thursday...

ECM 12:00 - heavy snowfall risk to low levels.

 

Met Office/UKV 12:00 - wet and windy to low levels.

 

So plenty for us all to keep an eye on/discuss for the week ahead - hopefully it all delivers the goods for someone in here! 

On that note...off to the lamppost I go once again! More sleet than snow now sadly for here over the next few hours. (Much better inland with a wee bit of height - if/when they push through)

 there was a piece on the news about the proliferation of small satellites increasing the risk of intergalactic enemas with this sort of outcome. Beware falling faeces.

bit of a top up for the highlands with that front associated with a small developing low, the front will then hang around the west coast extending a bit inland giving a mix of sleet and snow for those areas as seen on the forecast snow for the next 36 hrs (as always don’t take these as exact but gives a guide for that front)  

Surprisingly after an ice day we have wet snow and sleety rain at moment.

Interesting outputs and worth pointing out that the concensus on the snow down south today is that ECM outperformed the other models and that the UKV was hopeless.

Oh my life, this weather is utterly utterly sublime. So nice to see all these pics from around the country, with a significant chunk of the population being able to 'partake' in some way or another  

Crazy busy at work today. Lots of sledging....

All in all, West Lothian looking great but not as much snow as at home, and definitely not as much as there was in the colder parts of Kinross-shire yesterday!

  

I was supposed to be working tomorrow but my boss kindly obliged my last minute holiday request.....cos she knows me so well

Another lovely winters day - though astonished to see that the temperature at the moment is the highest of the day at 2.0c!

Severe frost last night and below freezing for most of the day.

Light winds during the day, now quite breezy out.

Not as sunny as yesterday as there was a lot of high level cloud.

To compensate that allowed a lovely sunset.

Lovely cold, sunny and frosty winter's day today.  Wind now picked up and the temp up to 1.6C.

A brief high of 1.0°C this afternoon on another stoater of a winter's day. Sledging again this weekend, too. Currently -1.1°C. The retro winter of 20-21 just keeps on going. Old school battleground this week?
