A cold crisp sunny morning here temp still only -4

Another dusting of snow late last evening has kept the place looking smart and a hard frost should keep it in place for most of the day.

Temperature -2.6deg.C up from -4.6deg.C at 09:20, humidity 97%, no wind, pressure 999.3hPa rising slowly, no rain today, cloud is high and thin extending to 1/8 cover and the dew point is -3deg.C.

Diablo, he say snow, but I can't see where it would come from at the moment.

Thirty first frost certainly a good 'un at -6.4°C. Everything rock hard and covered in frost if not covered in snow. Heating bills this year aren't pretty.

I'am loving the pictures everyone...Scotland is beautiful place and even lovelier when coverd in snow.

The last few days have been superb this is the kind of winter weather I like, it snow's then the cold digs in and we get frosty nights keeping the snow around for days on end...awesome.

I snapped this the one the other morning early doors before anyone drove down the road.

 

The lowest temps have been on Friday (-4.7deg/C) and Saturday (-4.8deg/C) with the frost lasting all day out of the sun.

Tuesday looks promising...but it depends how far north it travels.

And Thursday as this front moves through fingers crossed its cold enough for us here in Fife to get snow instead of pishy sleet.

Morning all! Temp currently -1.2c, clear skies and stunning outside! However, planned a wee walk today but having checked the single track road at my house, it's pure white and slippy underneath the snow! Main road ..... no idea when it was last gritted, no sign of gritters out in Skye according to Trunk Road Gritter Tracker. So, another day in at MQ Towers! May take a walk around my estate later today, just to get some fresh air!

Coldest night of the winter (so far) here: -8.1°C and everything rock solid frozen. Day 12 of snowcover. Impressive duration by the cauld this year - and it's not over yet. Not by a long way. Currently, -4.0°C. Bright and brisk.

Temperature now up to 1.7deg.C, humidity down to 85%, pressure up to 1000.0hPa and rising slowly, dew point has risen to -1deg.C. Sun is out but not much of a thaw in evidence so far. All in all a rather nice day.

Well, after my last post about the temperature dropping fast, it started climbing. And spent a chunk of the night before midnight, going down to -4.8 and back up to -3.9 and down again.

In the early hours, it started dropping again and reached a low of -8.3C about half an hour after sunrise.

Our high today is 1C !! and now it's hovering between 0.8 and 0.9

There is a lot of ice (and frozen snow) in our back garden, no signs of a thaw yet.

Managed out for a wee stretch with my friend and doggie. Found a wee pair of boots that I haven't used for some years, they have a mini -  crampon situated in the sole which can be tucked away when it isn't required! Very cosy too, so sorted for a walk! Walking poles come in handy too, just gives you that bit more stability. Current temp 1.6c but clear and sunny with it.

Anybody noticed the fault with met office rainfall radar? Western and Northern Isles in a black out.

Shetland isn't covered by ppn radar - always thought that ridiculous in this age.... 

Meanwhile in the Southern Uplands we had a max of -0.4°C so third ice day of the season.

We got out for a quick walk round this morning. Good views of the Cannich hills (above the cows) but Wyvis was obscured by clouds. Plenty of birds around including a flock of bramblings which I don't see too often. And a dead young buzzard.

All the 3s were the overnight lows here -3 C / -3.3C DP

bit of a top up for the highlands with that front associated with a small developing low, the front will then hang around the west coast extending a bit inland giving a mix of sleet and snow for those areas as seen on the forecast snow for the next 36 hrs (as always don’t take these as exact but gives a guide for that front)

It’s a shame the showers mostly faded before they reached here as it was stunning today. Makes lockdown bearable when the weather is like this.

Light dusting of snow here in Dunoon today it snowed on Saturday evening and again over night with a min temp of -2.4c. Today has been dry and sunny but it's just started to snow again around 5pm. Some photos I took today from the back garden,

After an overnight low of -6.4c, it reached the heady heights of 2.9c here in Banchory. Sun shone the whole day and I even ventured out to the supermarket Temperature has now fallen back below zero and currently at -1.9c with DP-3.8c
