Three inches of snow here! Easily the most I’ve seen here for a few years. Can’t remember the last time we had this amount of snow from anything other than a BFTE, decent accumulations from any other direction are very rare here given our modest elevation and proximity to the sea. Looking beautiful outside, shame I’ve got to work! Glad to see so many of us enjoying some snow.

Never mind what’s happened to Aberdeen, what’s happened to Banchory? Horizontal sleety stuff is all we’ve got and it’s more rain than sleet. Moved here 30 years ago and could always guarantee a decent winter with the snow line generally being at Drumoak. Last few years, 2018 excluded, snow line has been much further west towards the Cairngorms. 

Currently 1.9c, down from a high of 2.6c at 7am, DP also falling at 0.9c. Pressure also continued to fall overnight, now sitting at 968.85 and we’ve had just over 5mm of ppn since 2.30am. Wind has picked up too but nothing like I was expecting.

My my! Isn't this a busy wee thread! The excitement is palpable! The photies are great! The charts are RUBBISH! For here anyway. Just had a sleety, graupely shower pass through and that's probably as much as I'm likely to get for the forseeable. It's not nice out there, so I'll make the most of your snaw piccies while I watch the rain drip doon the windaes!

I remember many winters where we had northerlies where Aberdeen, Newcastle, Norwich etc got plastered but haven't seem to have had that in recent years as you say, not sure why not ...

Great stuff in here! Parts of the E/SE really are having a fantastic Winter!
@101_North that 300 meters move to the new house along the road has really worked wonders!  
Seen this on Twitter from @Penicuikblizzard old stomping ground!

Bit of sleet for me at sea level earlier on! No idea if anything has settled on higher ground. (Will be investigating shortly)

Looking across to the Cowal/Argyll hills - caked in snow above 400 meters (dusting down to 100 meters which more often than not is a good sign for over here)
Would usually be jumping on the ferry and heading straight over there to enjoy proper deep snow higher up! Obviously no chance of that happening with current circumstances. 

Once again it is good news if you have decent depths of snowfall on the ground - cold weekend ahead so can’t imagine there will be much melt!

Nothing more than a dusting here, which is what I expected in the west. I just don’t seem to be in a favourable place for snow this year! So far anyway.
