Just drove from Cowdenbeath back to leven. A92 is precarious. Parts of Fife should be under at least a yellow met warning. Driving conditions are touch and go. Back here in Leven its nothing but dreich. Amazing the difference a bit altitude makes in these scenarios

That was a long read catching up on all the posts from today...and isn't it amazing to see the excitement a wee drop of snaw brings.

Its been steadily snowing for a good few hours but not much has accumulated I'd guess around an inch or so and its wet snow its already running of the cars windscreens...I'am not sure what to expect overnight a degree or two colder will swing it in the right direction so not to wake up to a slushy pish mess.

The ground is showing -1.2deg/C, cloud -2.1deg/C, air +0.1deg/C its been hovering around this all evening.

Storm what storm there is not a hint of wind outside in fact the snow is falling straight down.

About 1cm of wet snow lying here in my bit of Edinburgh, at 25m asl. Just back from a walk with the teenager, who thought it was fairly safe going out with me at this time of night, as no-one would see her with me

It's starting to lay, but as you can see it's clearly rather wet stuff.

OK, so this is where we are at at 2am. Unless we are getting some super intense heavy snow, I don't see this accumulating. It looks reasonably heavy falling out of the sky, but it's wet mushy stuff and if you spend any time at all looking at the picture, you can see that it's not deep, it's slightly more than a dusting (can you get wet dustings?)

Temperature now fluctuating between 0.1C and 0.2C, spending more time at 0.2C though. That's probably not a great sign....
