Well just like last night, it's still raining here!

Dunno whit the fek is going on here this winter, but even Lithgy which normally gets precious little Snaw, is constantly getting Mair Snaw than here???

Most winters, snaw is a given here and taken for granted and can still be found long after it has melted away elsewhere in these parts!

Mibbies some of our very learned in here can enlighten me as to whit  the fek is goan oan???

Heavy Snow at Straiton,, Snow event No8 is underway!!  This has to be the most snow events in a winter since 2010 well for Edinburgh and surrounding areas

Aye snowing in Leith too, but not settling yet. Good signs for inland and higher up, maybe here too (fingers crossed)

I don’t think the cold air has fully undercut yet as the low pressure deepens and runs into the North Sea so the fact it’s snowing now at sea level in embra is pretty good news id guess !

Pretty sure @Northern Strath lives above 300 meters - hence why he always seems to have snow on the ground for the majority of most Winters!

Quite an exceptional upgrade from the UKV's output over the last 24 hours:

Some very impressive totals being flagged up, and with marginality becoming less of an issue further east with a bit of intensity the elevation differences might not be quite so strong (I'm still a bit wary of modification at the most exposed coasts when the winds get up but away from there).

Railway Station is just above 212m on OS maps. Glenmore more like 300m.....although that 100m gain is incredibly subtle as you drive out that way.

Braemar is a good 100m higher than Aviemore, and it certainly feels that way when you walk the Lairig Ghru southwards
