After a look at the other regionals some areas around North East Wales and the Manchester area are seeing some heavy snow - not forecast! Shows how uncertain everything is.

Interesting! Perhaps this storm makes this incredibly difficult to forecast! Snow is hard to forecast at the best of times never mind now! That’s gives me hope for later

Mostly dead calm hardly any wind with occasional wet snow and sleety hairy granules not terribly impressive as yet although we did get around inch and half this morning which was a tad unexpected..

Light snow actually falling here

Nothing yet in Banchory...I took 2 days holiday for this you know (nae really, I had 10 days to use or lose so taking the first 2 this week)

Currently 0.9c, DP 0.0c, no wind and pressure still falling. Wundercloud’s radar has me sitting under some sort of precipitation but the street lamp says nope.

Living the dream! 200 meters and above rules out this marginal nonsense (most of the time) that seems to be a recurring theme nowadays for lower ground.

So that is you, @Geedawg @Northern Strath @Ravelin @Ruzzi @shuggee above that height - can’t think of anyone else.

Pretty sure @Northern Strath lives above 300 meters - hence why he always seems to have snow on the ground for the majority of most Winters!

@Mair Snaw Hope you join that list above soon! ☃️

i think Aviemore is higher than 200 where I am my handheld barometer says 301 so not sure

Railway Station is just above 212m on OS maps. Glenmore more like 300m.....although that 100m gain is incredibly subtle as you drive out that way.

Braemar is a good 100m higher than Aviemore, and it certainly feels that way when you walk the Lairig Ghru southwards
