Good luck to @Mr Frost you deserve some snow for all your great posting helping others

and thoughts with @NUT

On home schooling couldn't agree more... My poor kids getting no help as wife and I got so much work and the direct teaching support not been amazing which I understood. However I have friends at a neighbouring school with a very different experience which is the way I guess as there are great teachers and not so great just as in any profession. Also seems the older ones in some cases toiling more with the technology.

I have to stick kids on their devices for peace for meetings just no other way...

We certainly all appreciate teachers more in general

Would standing them up against a wall in front of a firing squad be too extreme?

Discovered that a great alternative is to switch off the internet access to their specific devices (no sim cards allowed)   Always amazes how their negotiation and communication skills improve after that, and when they realise that there is no negotiating position other than get the job done, the work then gets completed.  What is really frustrating though is that there is so much high quality free training material out there these days, its getting the blighters to use them that is the challenge.

Oh, it's a weather forum, we actually got a brief glimpse of the sun just now.

Similar here. There was wet snow last night but no covering whatsoever. A few miles and a couple of hundred metres elevation up the road and Newton Mearns is plastered seemingly.

Noticed that today going from East Kilbride to Glasgow. Snow pretty much non existent from Cathkin!

Amber warning for some of the areas that got plastered last night, another dumping on top should bring some good totals to the hills just south of Edinburgh!  Extreme storms in the summer and now the extreme snow, lucky lot!

Yellow warning extended until 10am here and an Amber warning not a million miles away! What could go wrong

Interesting! I just got back from your suggested run up to Warklaw Hill. Was quite nice, but very muddy and wet!

On that note, almost no difference in temperature up to 200+m this afternoon. A very uniform low level atmosphere at the moment. Haven't had a look at any afternoon guidance, but i am still concerned that the best precipitation gets pulled eastward.

It's a lovely walk. Find the route OK? Hopefully you got some of the views? It did get a little slushy unfortunately.

Still don't like this low position from the 12Z GFS run. Shunting all the good precipitation rates to northeast England.

The Amber could end up extending up the way who knows what’s going to happen later, full of interest though!
