Just a few miles East from Max and across the river the temperature has risen over 1C in the last hour to 2.3C so despite getting heavier it is very definitely remaining as rain.

Yeah the rain band should reach us in Aberdeen in the next 30 mins - seems cold enough for snow and we have a harsh frost at the moment but I suspect the temp will pick up and any snow will be rain

Tomorrow night looks pretty juicy for anyone inland in the Borders and Lothians with moderate altitude. Once the breeze gets up there'll be some decent drifting and hideous driving conditions too. Have you seen the 950 heights on the Euro4?

These were 500m+ the other day, the temps look good enough for snow almost to sea level at Edinburgh, maybe this'll keep @101_North zipped for a while?

It was the other one that had the zip

interesting that the forecast didn't really call out snow tonight... let's hope they extend the MetO warning area to more of Scotland later!

They talked about snow in the early hours on the forecast earlier
