I'm a sucker for lamppost watching

Tomorrow is the first attempt at outdoors, simply due to circumstances! Usually indoor pitches at this time of year but obviously there'll all shut down! We'll see how it goes!

Out of interest - what lampposts do you have, the orangey ones or the new fangled white LED ones?

I used to lamppost watch, but since they replaced our lights with the LED ones, light snow is almost impossible to see. I have to rely on the road starting to turn white on the webcam now.....

Currently  0.5c and front almost here .Can see a few areas of freezing rain on the radar just to the west of us.Going to be a nasty night on higher roads.

I have the new LED ones, they are perfectly fine for me with snow, in some ways i prefer them.

Same. No issues here either except maybe how bright they are!

Just dipping in to report an absolutely disgusting sleety/slashy/frozen rainy mix in a howling wind at 0.8°C.  Nothing good will come of this.

Interesting, I wonder if we will do better here - it's -1.9C here.

Led and traditional orange... They left the lamp in my cul de sac when changed the rest of the village to LED.

Yeah wet bulb can't be great either not really lying properly on the areas cleared of snow.

Amongst all the crap we're all living through, maybe the loss of another season to the Scottish skiing resorts isn't the biggest thing to worry about. Even so, it's a bloody tragedy considering how this winter is playing out. Anyone got any idea of the snow depths up around Cairngorm, Glencoe etc just now?

1.8°C and blowing the rain around. Triple point was always away to our northwest. Maybe I'm too old skool for the weather on the telly.

Snowing and lying here now. Not sure for how long or if I can be bothered lamp post watching. (New type light here but a lot dimmer than the orange one). Big but wet flakes so will probs watch for a while and then dream that it won't go away by morning
