Met Office have me down for many hours of cold rain tomorrow. I am not holding out too much hope. Higher parts of Lanarkshire might do well.

Morning folks!

Lovely one it is too!   Yesterday morning I could hardly see across the other side of the road, it was so dark!

Currently it is -1.3c/-1.6c/1014/WNW/calm.

I'm with you James in thinking we are a wee bit too west. Of course it's not over until the front arrives and the physics does its magic. I'm directly in line on a north south axis with the Forth Bridge - will be interesting to see where the dividing line falls. Reminiscent of the event 16 March 2019.

Twenty sixth air frost this morning at -3.4C.

Lovely frosty morning here, -3 and mist giving way to sunshine. A welcome change from yesterday's mild dreichness.

Only remaing trace of snow is a big snowball the kids rolled in the park which hasn't disappeared yet!

Edi may not do well historically in battleground events but remember this is the 101 winter it could just be different. We actually have had some great falls in these type of events so fingers crossed but looks like we are too east atm.

@Mair Snawsome toys oot this morning but on closer inspection it's because the south not looking good... We are still primed for cold attacks and snow events if not deep cold.

Back into a deep frost here and everything white after 1 mild day.

Where did the 'hahahahaha' reactions go

I think pretty much all of Scotland excluding coastal areas (wider areas of the west) are still under the warnings

Well someone's up to no good - my weather warning has been half-inched! Not that I'm particularly bothered as the switch from dreich pish yesterday to cracking crispness today has been fabulous.

Temperature 1.8deg.C up from -4.3deg.C at 08:58, humidity 89%, wind 0 to 6mph southerly, pressure 1019.2hPa rising slowly, no rain, no cloud and dew point at 0deg.C.

Updated warning out for tomorrow. More of an emphasis on freezing rain to begin with, then snow above 100m (5-10cm)  with 2-5cm lower levels overnight. If anything, the warning covers more of the south west.

Hedging their bets which I can't blame them for as it'll be down to nowcasting.

Met Office UK weather warnings for rain, snow, wind, fog and ice. Choose your location to keep up to date with local weather warnings.

5 - 10 cm above 100 metres is an upgrade on yesterday when they were talking 150 metres for the heavier falls. I still think higher parts of Lanarkshire will be the favoured spot but @shuggee I think could be well placed at his elevation particularly if it pushes a little more east and stalls.

Being preceded by rain which will wash any salt away, the roads will become very difficult where any heavy snow does kick in.

I have no doubt I will see some heavy and persistent precipitation, but I think it will all be rain for me. The Met Office automated symbols agree.

Today sees cloudless blue skies and the frost has no thaw in the shade.
