I am loving the pics - some cracking shots. Here’s one from my brother in Killearn, Sterling. 

Its great to see some decent snowfall and some real cold.  Lots of places colder in Scotland last night than here in Canmore (1300m asl in a valley in the Canadian Rockies) ...now that’s impressive. 

Looking like more opportunities of snow events in the coming week too. Enjoy this cold spell!

Cold, draughty, drizzly pish this morning after a hard frost and wonderful 2 hour sunrise. Today is the pits, mother hasn't drawn her curtains back.

So far the Charts have stayed flowing in from  Arctic Areas and this should bring snaw. 

Early on Northern Parts of Scotland particularly for the Orkney Islands late at night. 

Later on though, 2018 will be what it is much Akin to with big Uppers and Snow most likely through most of the day. 

With my Birthday being a few days afterwards on the 24th It could be the First Time that a major Snow Event Countrywide Since I was born. 

However I find that Arctic Air coming down will be looking at further charts because it really is 50/50.

Not especially weather-related - although you can see some icicles - this was my attempt at a postcard type shot of the top waterfall in the Fairy Glen yesterday. Probably around optimum flow for this sort of long exposure - much more water and all you see is a mass of white, much less and you don't get the range of curtains.  Good fun to figure these out...

Final walk with the sledge this morning before the thaw set in. Cold, a bit of snizzle but no thaw underfoot.

No snow at home but great to be able to walk a few kms inland and be able to enjoy some snow and join in with the photos!  Local snow level is around 75m. These were taken around Kellie Law. Back home now and temperature on the rise at 1.8c.

Afternoon and Happy Saturday,

Back from dog walk in the frozen tundra of Queensferry. And realised whilst out that As of tomorrow we will have had lying snow here for two full weeks. We’ve had six separate snowfalls, we’ve had sleet , snizzle , graupel, hail, freezing rain, ice days .... And a constant blanket of ice that has us all walking like Mr Bean on multiple illegal substances 

The mild spell , with balmy temps of seven degrees now hardly warrants getting the bbq out for as it will last 48 hours tops tomorrow / Monday 

and now we have multiple SSWs that are causing the models more confusion than Boris Johnson’s hairdresser will have after lockdown ends. 
 

proper winters are brilliant : but so far it’s maybe just been the “warm up”

After the earlier balmy 8c and Dp of 7c we’ve seen the wind swing to the NNW and temps have quickly fallen back again to 4.1/3.5c and still falling back.

Only 1.4C here at the moment but with the clag rolling in everything is looking very different to how it did these past few days:

Had to drive to Glasgow this morning at 7am after a 12 hour nightshift the boy is heading back down south for the next stage off his Navy career. Only stopped at a service station on the M74 but at the back 8 this morning it was - 10 there. Some stunning images on this thread in recent days, keeps me going through some long nightshifts , that you all!

Very interesting seeing my local area stats! 

Got down to -10.5°C in my garden and the twenty fifth air frost, but we are up a steep slope so whilst the flat of the garden pools cold air tumbling down the hill, it is definitely not a traditional frost hollow like at Hartree. Still not broken freezing yet today and currently -0. 3°C. The last day of powder though for sure:

Fourteen consecutive days of lying snow and always of 5cm+.

In the Highlands I imagine most places are covered in Snow like this, most areas of Scotland seem to have their Snow sorted for the year. 

Houses always look good with Snow on top plus it's a pretty thick laying of snow. 

At the moment in Scotland Snow seems to have consumed everything.

Very rapid melt in Glasgow today. Most snow now gone and some deposits of slush and ice in places.

Its possible we have found a house.. waiting to hear back from the estate agent.. fingers crossed as it is in what i feel is a perfect spot for winter..

Its warmed up here a bit today and a rapid thaw of my 2cm has left just a slushy mess.

The mad house is so difficult to read currently.. so much conflicting from one post to the next..
