Coldest night of winter so far. Currently-9C with light cloud. The BBC did mention last night that sheltered Highland spots could hit -15C.

For these parts, the lowest recent temperature was 31st January 2019.

[A Winter's Tale]

A minimum of -11C at Glasgow Airport which is the coldest since 25 December 2010. I would expect some rural locations had lows close to -15C.

Some other very low temperatures  include -9C at Edinburgh, -8C at Aberdeen and -7C at Prestwick.

Lovely start to the day!

Great to see double digits across Scotland this morning but up here on the hill we never get that cold. Even in Dec 2010 we only got as low as -7C. Nevertheless, a low of -3.9C last night makes it the coldest January day I've recorded since 2013, and my coldest temperature since 1st March 2018. Snow on the ground for 12 consecutive days is possibly our best snowy stretch since Jan 2013. Need to check that one

Sadly no snow photos from Pittenweem to share but we’ve just had what was easily our coldest night of the winter with a min of -3.7c. That’s almost as cold as I recorded in 2010 in Crail. Decidedly chilly for my coastal location!

Another beautiful morning! Temp -3c after an overnight low of -8c. Not as cold as elsewhere but still fairly impressive for a suburban garden! Looks like warming up significantly so the first order of the day is sledging while it's still cold!

Haw! Whaurs ma snaw? Big change overnight here. Temp after sunset dropped like a stone to -2.6c. Now it's 5.1c and raining! Snow is but a memory! Possibility of another nippy spell around about January 20th? I'll be watching those charts with great interest!

Beautiful start to the day on Deeside, but a chilly one. Overnight low of -7.0c, currently -5.3c.

Compared to some, a relatively warm overnight low of -7.0C but in the last hour it has shot up from below -5C to 0.1C.

1C here currently but expected to reach 5C with rainfall by late afternoon.

The Highlandweather twitter account is mentioning quite a few personal weather stations in the area to the south-west of the Pentland Hills getting down below -15C, with Hartree House near Biggar getting down to -17.8, but the Met O is giving the overall low as -11.8 at Tulloch Bridge, east of Fort William. Not sure if there is any scope for the Met O to check and verify these temperatures. That area seems quite prone to low temperatures under certain set-ups. It would seem that there used to be some kind of official/semi-official weather station at Carnwath, as it holds a few of the annual low temperature records (including -24.6 at Carnwath on 13 January 1979).

Definitely the lowest temperature of the winter, with a overnight low of -8.1c around 5am.

Temperature rise since then remarkable as already 1.5c and increasing.

Overcast, dry with light winds.

Quite a dramatic lift in temperatures over the last 2 hours. -9C to 0C.

seen @101_North saying he wasn’t as cold as elsewhere well me and Hawesy were near tropical compared to the rest of u I match ur low temp of -3.7C and more impressively for me my low dewpoint was -5.5C

Yes the temperature is slowly rising here and the snow and ice is beginning to melt. No complaints here, the snow was unexpected and the kids have had a blast the last couple of days. They have been out since 8am this morning enjoying it before it goes

how odd so that’s three of us fifers on the exact same low temperature

Delved in from the SE. Thread just to see some Snow and wow you really have got a lot. 

Last time I had proper Snow was in Early December, perhaps you could share Some Of The Snow that would be appreciated thanks. 

Although we do have some great Sunrises that's why I love Kent, Still Snow In Scotland always seems to lay up much further than down here. 

Just to get you ready for some more Snow, looks incredible. 

Enjoy the Snow, hopefully everyone will Get Snow As Well maybe we will all have a repeat of 2010 who knows.

Lowest temperature of the winter so far last night, -9.7deg.C at 00:10.

Temperature 1.2deg.C, humidity 86%, wind 1 to 6mph southerly, pressure 1025.9hPa falling slowly, no rain or snaw in the last 24 hours, 8/8 cloud cover and the dew point is -1 deg.C.

Thawing this morning a bit but ground very hard.Dry above and currently 3.6c. listening to radio in tractor this morning there was a warning for ice tonight  A real old fashioned winter as soon  the sky clears a frost comes down just a fraction milder by day. If I remember clearly the average temperature for January in the sixties up here was 4c so can easily accomodate a slight frost most nights Seems we might be on the edge of colder weather next week so we may not be mild   for too long
