Now puddles outside, expected it tbh. Very rare we get snow here on the west coast from a front coming in from the northwest, particularly with how marginal it was. Glad areas more inland saw a bit of snow

The daily hack to work wasn't bad, light rain at the house, fresh snow on the hills at 250 mts ASL. 

No drama so far.....

The story of this winter so far.. cold and frosty .. then as precipitation heads my way .. I get excited for some snaw .. but yet again the temperature rises and it just rains ... Ah well , hope everyone that got snaw enjoys it  Here is a photo of the ice and mist from yesterday

4.5cm of lying snow this morning which is the best since March 2018.

In reality despite radar showing snow for hours it only actually snowed for about an hour, not enough to crack the sledges out properly I don't think.

A light covering. Probably not even a cm. As @edo mentioned it only snowed for an hour or so here too. To be fair there weren't many forecasts suggesting anything other than a dusting.

Seems it was just rain here as looking out I just seem to have damp frost, certainly no sign of snow in the garden. Maybe snowed a bit higher up, I'll see when it's light enough to see the hills. 

Temp currently 1.3/0.9C and its been 0.1C either side of that since 3am.

Jammy git - hearing quite a few places have snowfall on the ground! Paisley for example have a couple of centimetres. (Report from my aunt this morning - picture from her included. )

Bishopton as well with snow on the ground - few inland West/Central parts have done okay. 

Started off light snow here, sleet, drizzle and then back to light snow as it departed! Expected here at sea level on the coast.

It is quite interesting though as the colder air to the N/NE is trying to fight back! Wee tiny risk of wintry potential over the higher hills/mountains at least in the North.

Highlights of all that...heavy snow showers for the N/NE later today through into Friday morning - risk of a few further S//SE. 
Minus double digits expected.

Ice day tomorrow for most and then minus double digits again expected overnight into Saturday.

Slight weekend warmup, Monday washout for many and then maybe a battle beginning as that cold pool to our NE/E tries to muscle in.

Interesting outlook and it is still only January 7th!

Snowed pretty much all night here I think, albeit very lightly. An extra 2cm to freshen everything up. Tomorrow looks like a cracking day!!

Forget about what’s happening in America, more newsworthy is the fact we have lying snow in Pittenweem. Well, kind of.  But when you can go years between snowfalls you have to claim every flake so I’m claiming this. Well done on the call @Kirkcaldy Weather and @Mr Frost 

Currently 1c and light rain so best get building that snowman fast.

After a  frosty start yesterday at 3c we had a fine sunny day till late pm when it clouded over and we got more rain overnight.Surfaces are highly glazed this morning at 1.5c.

Nothing more than a fresh dusting of snow here. Not sure if that’s down to a lack of precipitation or some of it falling as rain.

If you don’t see falling snowfall at least later today into tomorrow morning it is definitely time to move mate!

Everything points to a dusting at least for Ellon...although are you quite near the coast!? 

Just for fun the lying snow depth chart out to 08:00 tomorrow.

2C, mainly clear and big ice ferns on the cars.  I was watching the oil tanker delivery driver skating on thin ice half an hour ago (no photos ).

Morning all! Glad to see that a good few of you are getting a blast of the white stuff. Nothing here as expected and I doubt we'll see anything from tonight's forecast. Currently around 2c, cloudy and damp. Normal for Skye at this time of the year. Roll on the rest of the winter and hopefully some more snow and ice days to come!

A dusting here too, which is not great from about 4 hours of light precip. I think we may of had rain/sleet for a bit near the end too.

No real sign of any additional snow even on higher ground here so I don't know if the rainfall radar was just imagining everything it was showing for this area last night and this morning. Driveway is a sheet of ice again, that is getting tiresome.
