It’s OK - if you look closely at the MetO’s carefully drawn warning area, it’s only the Mull of Kintyre and the Mull of Galloway which are exempt from winter conditions

Meanwhile, the mist has descended here (note also the icy road and remaining snow which looks good from a distance but, after about a week of partial thawing and re-freezing, now actually resembles the stuff the chunky, icy stuff they put in Slush Puppies).

Cracking day here, max of 3c. 
 

Was passing by Loch Ettrick today (900 ft asl) and people were ice skating (see video below)

Friends were climbing a hill nearby (i’ll leave details sketchy due to the covid Police), looked like it was a great day for them. Truly sublime conditions with minimal wind. Snow was apparently knee deep at the top.
Exceptional 360 views at the summit as per video (so they tell/sent me)

Yeah it's been quite the view south towards the Pentlands and Southern Uplands today. Low cloud just sitting there between Edinburgh and Peebles:

....and we went below freezing an hour ago, which is quite unusual for up here as we don't usually go subzero until the early hours of the morning.

As others have said, when it's calm and still and cold and crunchy, oh you've gotta love it!

The toys are officially flying about in the MT thread, I’ve noticed all of the posters who have went for a BFTE forecast have went awful quiet

To be honest I’m more than happy with the winter we have had so far several snow events in Edinburgh over the last two weeks although I’m happy to see the back of the rainy Easterly.

Its mostly definitely looking milder next week and possibly beyond but I’m certain we will have more Snow up here in Scotland between now and March

Same here @Penicuikblizzard, it's been an OK winter so far here too, although I'd be happy to lose all the ice. I keep wanting to post the following in the MAD thread but daren't...."There's no such thing as the wrong weather, only the wrong location".

Highest temp the day here was still around 2am before it fell off to -1.4C after dawn . This afternoon it crept back up above freezing, only just, sitting around 0.5C for an hour or two before starting to plummet again at 3pm. Currently its  -2.7C. Forecasts keep changing but MetO has Alford down for snow overnight and then sleety showers for most of tomorrow (although we might be OK as a little higher), with snow again on Friday. We'll see, but I'm not expecting much really. Either way it'll be our 4th snow fall of the winter if it comes to anything.

-6C at 4.30pm on the hills between Torphins and Alford today. I think that's the coldest temperature I've noted so far this winter. Snow is expected tonight, tomorrow and Friday so the commute to work could be tricky.

 Minus1.6c/-2.3c/1020mbs Lowest stats for a wee while for here.

My minus key has started to play funny buggers all of a sudden!   Will just have to type it in until I can find a qualified expert to fix it. ...  That'll be me then!   (It's a women thing!)   At least in our house it has to be!

Stunning day, if only you could get more days of skies like this...

Overnight low of -3.2c, high today of 0.8c at lunchtime; now -1.7c.  Calm conditions.

Going forward, I suspect I will remember this cold period for the lack of snow and the treacherous ice conditions.  See its all kicking off over the pond around the Capitol building,  at the ready - definitely a hollywood film in the making.

A quick walk up the Fairy Glen this afternoon was rewarding... Apparently it was around -6C near here at dawn and only reached 0C about the time I was there mid afternoon.  Much of the ice will be gone very soon.
