Have cycled to starbucks with 10 8 and 7 Yr olds... A good 3 miles and all uphill back and now icy rain.... Waiting it out at risk of darkness falling

Last shower here started as rain but turned to hail/graupel as it got heavier. A wintry sky to my NE but not wintry enough I fear.

Plenty of freezing rain/sleet showers passed through today and caught this photo earlier of a rainbow to the north

Pretty cloudscapes this afternoon in the East Neuk even if they were just rainbearing! 

Currently 2.7c here in Pittenweem.

made it home in daylight kids done well and fitter than i expected after a few weeks off activities.... i toiled

Dancing on Ice - Glesga Edition. 

Today adventure was quick walk down to Queens Park, busy isn't even the word to describe - it was heavy busy!

Baltic again though, the good old Queens Park pond must be holding up well. 

Talk of snow event in model thread for Thursday/Friday and coming in from NW although not sure if they mean our Northwest or Northwest England.

Lowry looking scene you captured there on the pond. My sister walks her dog there everyday and she described it as ‘festival like’. There was an ice cream van & ambulance there earlier this afternoon.

Improving weather today after  a showery start it went on to become a mostly sunny but frost started coming in about 3.00pm. Had to make  an unusual effort on a Sunday to lift neeps today as we had run out for the inside cattle and before the frost set in. Got enough up to last a month or so before a belt  tensioner snapped so considered ourselves lucky. Had just enough daylight left  to move the cows electric fence back over to a fresh drill of neeps  for tomorrow. Muddy on the surface but ground underneath has dried out a bit in the last three days. Probably been looked on as being a bit desperate to be working today but needs must.

Upsicle update. 
He had a few too many shandy’s on New Year’s Day and lost the heid. Getting back on his feet now!

Yes, the atmosphere was grand with all things considered - some people would likely be anxious with amount of people gathered at the pond. 

The main path was lethal to point few people took a sore one.All round was good to see people enjoying themselves whether it be skating (or attempting to) or sledging at nearby hill.

Had a nice walk today around one of the local reservoirs. Nice views towards Glasgow as the sunset.

MT is in slitting wrist mode, some absolute knicker wetters in there

 

from what i can tell, models a bit all over the place and we remain cold throughout but no deep cold or major snowstorms but still potential and latest gfs actually upgrades uppers on tuesday with things looking less marginal.....

Sleet falling here in EK. This will turn the roads/pavements icy again just as they’ve properly started to thaw past day or so.

Same here. The bits that cleared earlier are now more dangerous than the old stuff as the showers have just frozen as black ice. Maybe more showers to come so will wait to see with interest ( but not optimism) what falls from the sky.

Hard frost again this morning and whilst there was a slight thaw this afternoon, the dripping has stopped and cars are frozen again.
 

Walk up the back of the village earlier. Still a noticeable difference between the house at 130 metres and up the hill to 180 metres. 
 

Then drinks with the neighbours. Lasted about 4 hours before we eventually gave up! 
 

 

Slight shower a short time ago, but it is rain despite there being a frost.

Picture from phone as we put electric fence back showing a shower moving east to west(right to left) into the Firth. We should mostly miss these now and become dry and frosty. Currently 0c and starry

I like to think he made it all the way on NYE but between then and NYD he went on a major bender and set him back a bit.  We’ll see how the temps go in the coming days. 
 

Still snow on the ground here. First night son hasn’t asked to go out Sledging for a good few nights. Thank god my ass and hips are not good. 
 

Seen a post on here the other day of a boy and girl twins first snow outing which just reminded me of us. I dare say some of you will remember the photos. Mine are now almost 16. Boy likes sledging, girl not so much probably on the first day then the novelty wears off.
