Yay, we have snow. Not lying yet, that's one for the morning! That makes the grand total of 6 days this winter here that snow has fallen, pathetic but probably twice as much as the last two winters put together. Loads to come over the next few days too, yeeehaaa!

I think it's only about six days it hasn't snowed up here in Consett since Christmas.

Haha, nananeenana! Joking, I know what it's like there, only 20 mins away, I PROMISE, I am NOT  jealous of you mate, at all lol. I think for all up here it has been a better than average winter. Well, it will be by the time we are done. Living here in the "lowlands", every winter, almost without fail, I see family and friends living in Essex, London, Bucks having more snowfall than us here in Tyneside, boils my weewee to hear the Southerners complaining that we get all the snow! Not true, unless ya live in Consett lol. Cheers bud, enjoy this week

Just checked the radar and it's not really happening in the North Sea for us atm. If things don't get going soon I think we can call tonight a bust.

Possible start of the shower activity in the northern part of the region. Northumberland looks good but nothing further south.....yet!!

Indeed there is some activity starting to pick up in the north sea. BBC has me dry until midnight tonight

There is no getting round it this has been a poor start to our cold event. I've been round all the other regionals and most of them have been describing little or no snow in their areas. Anyway today has got to be better I suppose.

Looks like we might get that Atlantic Omega I've been harping on about.

Pretty Please GFS

The north Sea seems to be waking up but the showers don't look very beefy just yet will probably just produce flurries when they hit the land.

Still patience needed, you can see the low clearing through Germany now and it'll start to head west, this is what's preventing the snow machine firing up proper at the minute.

If anyone's seen the GFS it ends quite spectacularly with a whopper of a Northerly and a strong Atlantic block.

I call it the Angel

Although checking the radar can see the steamers lining up, just need them to become heavier.

Well the BBC have just massively upgraded darlington snow chances from 40% chance of  light snow showers to over 90% chance of heavy snow showers for 8am today. Not giving ppl much warning though is it?

I was expecting at least a dusting this morning.

The radar shows the North Sea coming to life now though so hopefully we will get some snow soon.
