Folk on know on the North Downs in Kent are expecting 50cm. Now that WILL cause jealousy! Because that's a different level of experience from 10-15cm!

Does it really matter ??

Get yourself over to Blakey on the NYM and you will see more than that.

Would hate to be your wife Nick, there is no satisfying you !!!

Years ago my wife bought her childhood wooden sledge back from Eastern Europe, it quite old but very robust, it's been sitting in our loft collecting cobwebs for over 30 years; I'm quite tempted to give it a run out if the snow settles on my local hills

Even tabbing back through the radar you can see the N Sea producing rain at the minute about 75-100miles out

Its a bit bleak down in South Shields today.

When you haven’t had a decent fall since 2018 10-15cm will feel like 50cm.

Also convective snowfall can bring more than 10 to 15cm's so I'm still excited.

Looks like the colder air is having an earlier than predicted effect, anything at Consett yet?

Surely if sleeting in Whickham they'll have 3" by now?

Looking outside it's hard to imagine how much different this going to get in the next few hours

Could be one of those rare occasions when you look out of the window and see heavy rain, sit down and watch Corrie (or some other rubbish), take another peek afterwards and see everything white, love it when that happens

Just been up to Tescos in Consett (literally the coldest place on earth ) and it was definitely turning sleety, 2.5 degrees on the car dashboard

Yep flakes of snow now mixed in.

The start of the much anticipated freeze, stay calm people ( and especially you NickR ) , don't be whinging if you haven't got 15cms by midnight,  there will still be plenty of more opportunities in the next week of the freeze.
