I got shot down the other day in the mad thread for stating sea temps of 6 or 7c and apparently they are more like 5. Looks like 6s and 7s to me apart from a small patch of 5 and obviously slightly colder in the shallower waters near the coast

I think that thread is a bit weird at times anyway. But what gets me about it is I have commented a couple of times about what the models show, my posts get removed yet others can talk less about the models and their posts are left.

Either way its me probably being childish but annoys me the bias in there sometimes. Then on the other hand its a great source of information isn't it so pointless me complaining when I'm in there reading loads

Actually I am getting concerned now BBC showing no snow for me Sun to Wed

Me too - Sunday changed to light cloud and Monday heavy snow showers have changed to light. Doesn’t feel like a repeat of 2018 at this stage

Anyone worried about snowfall should read Matt's tweet above, there simply isn't a model that is good at picking up convection off the North sea. Oh and the BBC weather maps are useless. Also remember as it will be so cold, even the small showers can build up depth quickly.

The MOD is very biased towards regular posters. That's completely wrong.

On another note, where is all this snow melt in the future going to go? Rivers and becks are overwhelmed. We had the A19 shut for flooding and RTC's a plenty yesterday. It's a worry for low lying areas for sure.

T-8 (6pm sat) - 06 GFS model is not letting us down, continues to show snow until end of next week

good signs of continuation on 06 GFS of cold snap into next weekend

Why are people getting hung up on weather apps and the BBC? Honestly listen to the posters on here, follow the metoffice official warnings and radar watch.

We are literally in with a decent shot at some good accumulations

I agree, and honestly I'm not just saying this but we are by far the most hospitable people on earth so it would be fantastic at such a hard time like this to see some excitement amongst us up here. Love seeing people out and enjoying the snow, laughing and getting some proper fresh air!

I feel like a giddy excited schoolgirl

Taking advice from here I’m ignoring the weather apps, trying to make sense of the radars and getting ready to watch the lamppost

Lots of snow showers will be around early next week it will be virtually impossible to pinpoint the exact areas that'll get them

One reason why shower activity is not forecast to be as good as we hoped is because the convergence zones that had been appearing in the N Sea on the fax charts have now disappeared.

Folk on know on the North Downs in Kent are expecting 50cm. Now that WILL cause jealousy! Because that's a different level of experience from 10-15cm!

When you haven’t had a decent fall since 2018 10-15cm will feel like 50cm.

Early signs look good with convection picking up in the Skagerrak Strait already. I'd like to see a webcam to the west of Vänern lake.
