I think how quiet this forum is speaks volumes. Again I would say we miss out on the good snow events.

I hope February delivers at least something of note ??

All the wintry action is further north at the moment, and forecasts for later in the week just look fictional.

Even the southerners look like getting something on Saturday as well.
Never mind. Still time to go.

Just got in from work. Checked the models out. Gfs, arpege, harmonie, icon all showing a few hours of snow Thursday morning. Not checked ECM yet. Euro 4 has snow only for high ground. Don't think it's been performing as well as the others. Keep the faith dude

This mornings arpege, harmonie, gfs, icon all showing snow for the early hours of tomorrow morning. Euro 4 has less precipitation and mainly snow on high ground. Hirlam has no precipitation at all at the same time frame. Haven't checked forecasted dew points but temps look to drop considerably through the night

By 2am dew points should be at or below 0. With temps forecasted to drop to about 1 or 2c it should support snow. Could be a watching lampost job

Who do we believe and which one do we go off as the way i see it most of that precipitation will be rain in the usual places Teesside etc but Durham will do well again.

Them charts above look very unrealistic? but i like them lol.

At 2am dew points should support snow in teeside. 0c dew point. -1 and -2 moving in. Think there could be a few surprises in the morning. Or maybe I'm just being optimistic lol

I see the met office are having none of it in regards to snow tonight yet the BBC and charts say otherwise. Anyone want to make the call?

AHH right I was just looking at the warnings. That's a good sign! I have a feeling it's going to be similar to last week's fall. Lampost watching tonight then

Indeed. Fingers crossed those pesky temps drop a bit earlier as heavy rain is forecast all afternoon and evening.

Temps have began to drop here. From 8c earlier this morning now down to 6c. Every model is showing snowfall across the region now. Euro 4 was originally sticking to higher ground only but is now showing snow down to the coast. Personally I think it will be a Nowcast event. The potential is definitely there.

I'll be 'twitching' before bed to check for any flakes falling alongside the rain. I'm hopeful I get a 5am wakeup call from my wife to take her to work
