Not sure as I can see this being rain near the coast again. Favours the same spots again.

If not from the east

We will get the least.

Seems to be that this is so true for us.

Someone tell me that we really will see like 12 hours of continuous proper snowfall on Wed/Thurs here in Durham.

Unlikely. Might get a few hours in the early hours of Thursday morning. Higher ground and places further north west look best at minute

Haha I've just checked out the gfs 12z and it does indeed have 10-12 hours of snow and quite moderate too

This does look juicy. However il not getting my hopes up this time as fear I am not high enough and too close to the coast.

At least it's some interesting weather to keep an eye on and fingers crossed we all get a good pasting.

Been asked by the MO to put out early snow warnings.

Issued: 19:24 (UTC) on Monday 18 Jan 2021

Rain will turn to snow across Scotland on Wednesday afternoon and evening, initially on high ground, but increasingly to lower levels. During Wednesday evening and night the risk of snow will extend southwards into more of northern England. 10 to 20 cm snow is likely to accumulate with greater amounts at higher elevations. Amounts at low levels 5 to 10cm) but 0.1 cm is likely in Teesside by Thursday morning.

As the current cold spell seems to be ending today I thought I’d look back on how it was up here. Started Christmas Eve and lasted till today. Coldest temp was -11.2 last Friday night. Coldest day max was -3.2 on Thursday gone. Snow on the ground for 15 days(and counting) and max depth was 26cms as of last night. Can probably add a few cms during the night but rain now. Overall I’d say 6/10 up here in my part of Northumberland.

Looking very interesting for your location over the next few days.
